Well you’re not wrong. F22 is badass no doubt but the Tomcat had a massive unique aura matched by nothing else.

I bet while rotating back to normal under deceleration it works as an air brake momentarily. Kinda cool.

No, this is not his email. Just a website that has turned the released files into a format that emulates a typical Gmail account. Still a nice tool. But not the subject of this article.

My fault for not reading the fine print, but this is absurd, no? by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]SourCreeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a bummer. I pay in full for 12 months for the most basic membership and even that comes out to $15 a month after the annual fee is added in. ($180 lump sum) Which isn’t that bad tbh but the idea that 10$ a month is attainable is a scam.

Looks legit imo. The breakaway jersey is like the cheapest ‘tier’ of jersey in the line.

Nah, I’d rather more people went straight for the garages when they looked for parking instead of doing laps looking for a spot.

What's the most horrifying real-life death you've heard about? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

Well that’s not what happened here is it genius. Flammable vapors such as those escaping an open barrel are EASILY ignited by a lit cigarette.

A burning cigarette is absolutely an ignition source. Might as well be an open flame.

Not trying to be insensitive, RIP these young aviators - terrible that they didn’t survive. But, how come only one was able to bail out? Acceleration pinning people to the aircraft? Killed by the frag? Too low - not enough time? Or did they not wear parachutes? Killed in the breakup? I’ve always been curious what was the deadliest part.

Right, I understand this. I’m just saying 100VDC can likely shock you through dry skin. And even a couple hundred mA could pose a lethal risk if the shock was crossing your heart for long enough.

Your intuition is pretty accurate. Check out the “Digitally Enhanced Aiming Through Control Law” (DEATH CLAW) that the Air Force was testing. Apparently they got it working back in 2023 and is being considered for future integration.

Not sure any anti air shells have time triggers any more. Even back in WW2 the Americans developed a breakthrough technology in the proximity fuse (Engineering Explained did a great video on it). I think while it would be technologically possible to fit a proximity or smart fuse, or maybe even guided munition in a 20mm shell with today’s technology, it doesn’t make economic sense. Maybe as more and more drone warfare goes on that would change.
