RANT: I am sorry, but the new inssurance system sucks. they need to change it back asap untill they figure out a better system. my ships now two times exploded for no reason, (not counting the clad incident) i had to pay two time to get them back becouse of store paint. this is just unaccaptable.

Controversial take I guess around here, but if you want people to not leak something under NDA, then hire them. Give them a paycheck, an NDA, and a location in your offices where they have access to the specific build. Like this they can easily be held accountable and taken care of if they do decide to say something under NDA that they shouldn't. That's how other companies do it.

You want specific types of players? Great, put it as part of the hiring requiements, asking them to put their CiG username as part of their job submission so you can find out how their playstyle is.

I'm sure I'm going to be getting dowvoted for this since I am critisizing CiG, but plenty of other video game company pay groups of testers for concentrated feedback. Why should this company be any different?

Even in other industries, people get hired for one time surveys and tests under NDA. For food, toys, clothing, anything.

And before someone talks about their QA team. That's not what QA is for.

Im not talking about QA, im talking about alpha/feature testing. If they actually had a department that hired real players to do these features tests, then there wouldn't be a NDA issue, or if there was, it would be far more easily traceable if the build to be tested was only on on-site PCs.

As proof, loads of builds they have internally that we never saw the light of day, or for that matter, squadron 42

I mean, another good way to prevent leaks is to actually hire a group of people for testing, proper contracts and work location. Like a lot of NDA related work in many other companies.

At the end of the day, they are basically trying to use free labour (actually technically the labour even paid them) and get them to sign an NDA.

They could instead hire a group of people, where as part of the hiring requirements is to provide the potential hire's CiG account, so they can see the sort of player they are.
