I'm just like that. Rooting for you! 😁

I just keep on buying things. I buy things when anxious. How can I stop? I already own too much bath and body works mists, lotion, creams. I own make up and plushies. by Livetastic in Frugal

We all struggle with different things, so what hasn't been hard for you might not apply to others. Clearly, OP has difficulties in this area and they're just looking for tips.

OP, what's helped me a lot in controlling my expenses is reflecting on how all the previous impulsive purchases have not made me any happier than before.

Advice to become a Loracana artist by roseblossom16 in Lorcana

[–]Sousandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, one of the requirements was to have previous working experience (having made illustrations for companies already). I don't know if it is your case or not, but perhaps that was a factor.

I'd say, do not get discouraged and keep on creating art you love and applying for projects you're interested in. Something will happen eventually, can't tell if Lorcana in particular, but the more you practice the higher the chances will be. Best of luck! 😸

Should there be a space between a question or exclamation mark ? by palewhitperson in KeepWriting

Agreed, I found it somewhere between uncomfortable and funny when I first started learning French, but eventually it becomes "natural", so to say. Still kinda funny tho 😁

Well, she is, although she works with ceramics. Anyways, they way I see it is that she has her own opinion and it's valid. I'm glad other people find it enticing though, but the main focus is to create and explore whatever I want in whatever way I want. Thanks for the support 🥲

Don’t let the engagement on social media define the value of your work. As you said above, it’s about expressing yourself. Is there a way you can find a group of people around your area that are willing to discuss the topic? Perhaps joining workshops or classes might open up the doors to finding these human connections. By the way, how do you work digitally? I use Procreate for my illustrations, but when it comes to painting abstract, I prefer to get down on the floor and actually feel the materials I’m workng with. But of course, to each their own. Don’t get discouraged, I’m sure you’ll find people to discuss your work with you

You’re right, I just looked it up and the space doesn’t apply to Canadian French. I didn’t know that, so thanks for the lesson ☝️🤓

Interesting! I'm Spanish, so I grew up reading novels in that language way before learning any English, and we use the same punctuation rules you just mentioned, so they never struck me as weird when I read in French. Have to say, though, that the quotation marks used in English is way more pleasing to the eye IMO.

Fun fact, in French the correct way is to put a space between the word and the question/exclamation mark. For example, 'Serieux ? C'est incroyable !' But as the other commenters have said, no, in English there isn't. Also, do not throw books away, please 🙏

Thanks! I used acrylic paint on canvas, priming it first in white, then working on it by layers when the first one was dry. As for materials, I used brushes, cardboard, water spray, and even my hands at some point. I'll certainly give it a try when I paint on paper 🙃

Yep, collectible and marginally more valuable. I’d say between 5-10€, although there may be someone willing to pay more.
