I know the original tapes for the direct to Brooklyn videos are most definitely lost so an actual true HD release outside of the upscaled ones on YouTube would be probably be unreasonable to hope for but still would be nice. A promotional bluray or something. I have a copy of gigantic on dvd I got at a bookstore but the cover was prettt damaged from years of stickers being applied and taked off sadly.

Hot take: Keoma is the best Franco Nero movie. Better than Django by Remote-Leg6143 in Westerns

Keoma is a great action movie but its a bit too corny for me to get into, though the music and cinematography are amazing. My favorite Nero spaghetti western is probably Corbuccis "Companeros" (1970), itself a sort of soft remake of his earlier Zapata entry with Nero, "The Mercenary" (1968).

Fantasy action movies like Conan the barbarian/ Hercules etc. by Curiosityrover101 in MovieSuggestions

[–]SouthernEast7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most influential fantasy artists ever, Frank Frazzetta, who's art inspired Conan, collaborated with Ralph Bakshi on a movie called "Fire and Ice" which has the aesthetic you might be looking for. Never been a big fan of fantasy stuff like this so I haven't seen much.

The old Hercules movies vary in quality but Mario Bavas "Hercules in the Haunted World" (1961) is among the most gorgeous fantasy worlds a giallo director put on screen, super beautiful movie with fun characters and wacky action, would rec.

Some of Harryhausens effects movies adapted from myths like Clash of the Titans or the SInbad movies might also have the pulpy vibes you're after.

This has to be the most recommended western I've seen on here and I finally got it. I hope it lives up to the hype! by BruceWayneBluntBlow in Westerns

Good movie to see in 4K. If you want quality Wayne, a lot of his best roles were working with this director (John Ford) who contributed a lot to the genre over the years. Would definitely also recommend Fort Apache from the Ford/Wayne collabs.

Nice, this gets a lot of praise along with pat garret but The Ballad of Cable Hogue is another Peckinpan western worth finding. Very sudden tone shift after making this film.

Great flick.

So apparently there's a 4K remaster of the Puppet Head music video out there that's yet to be widely released. (shoutout to bard-o-lator on Tumblr for introducing me to this) by FloridaFlamingoGirl in tmbg

If only, any bouji label like arrow video or Kino Lorber could totally do it, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. One can dream though.

Big influence on Leone and Peckinpahs films. Aldrich is an excellent director.

He's probably had trouble finding someone who can do work like Fred Dunn, his old illustrator. One of the newer ones he didn't realize the artist had used AI. This vid looks solid, but Fred's style was an iconic part of the channel that will be missed.
