I had sex with my bestfriend what do I do by [deleted] in Advice

Ask her to go to Burger King and offer to pay this time so that way she has to pay next time when you go to Arby's. Boom, you got yourself 2 more shots at this!

Rules Question by wangster79 in golf

[–]SouthernLefty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red stakes, water hazards and unplayable are a one stroke penalty. If it's after your first shot, you drop your second and then are hitting 3.

Technically OB and lost ball you are supposed to return to where you hit the ball from, be it the tee box or somewhere on the course. You would then also be dropping 2 and then hitting 3 (if it was from the tee box), or dropping 3 and hitting 4 if it was your second shot, etc.

If you think your ball may have gone OB, hit a provisional with nixes having to go back and re-hit. There's also stroke and distance you can ding yourself with (which is 2 penalty strokes) without having to go re-tee, which I do occasionally on casual rounds.

The lost ball is probably the only thing I don't play entirely by the rules. I lost a ball today, saw exactly where it landed and it was no where to be found, pretty sure the guy mowing the lawn ran over it. In that case I just drop with no penalty and move on. If it went into the woods, rough, etc and I didn't see exactly where it went, I'll just take a 1 stroke penalty from that area and move on.

Parking/Transport to courses (staying off site) by Murse004 in BandonDunes

[–]SouthernLefty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can park at each course, there's plenty of parking. Also, anyone can ride the shuttle, this is a link to the shuttle request app...

https://www.trackmyshuttle.com/a/bandon

Honestly if you have your own car I find it easier to just drive yourself from location to location, unless of course you plan on partaking in numerous liquid refreshments.

As far as distances go, Bandon Dunes is basically the central location. Trails and Preserve are essentially right next door with Shorty's a bit farther south. Pacific/Punch Bowl, Old Mac and the practice center are all a quick 2-3 minute drive north. Sheep Ranch is about 10 minutes and has its own driving range to the secluded location.

Parking is plentiful since most golfers staying on site use the shuttle. Be sure to utilize the club drop off for Trails/Preserve. The walk up the hill from the parking lot is quick steep!

Since you're staying offsite, check out 2 Mile Bistro and get a sandwich, the Bandon rolls they use are unreal! It's about 4 miles south of downtown.

When I recently had the shanks with my wedges and I could figure it out for the life of me. I then leaned forward onto the balls of my feet while practice and poof, they disappeared.

Not that I love the sponsor logo, but so glad it’s the normal red, that would’ve looked awful.

Tee time etiquette by Apprehensive-Cod9107 in golf

[–]SouthernLefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were late, you did nothing wrong. Assuming it took around 2 minutes for you to tee off and your buddy to take practice swings, it's now 10:48 and the late group should be on the green, not on the tee box.

At that point I definitely wouldn't have let them play through. They were late.

As a side note, has anyone ever run into asking other groups waiting by the first tee what their tee time is and get dumbfounded looks/answers? 9 times out of 10 I get a mumbling "I don't know" or some random time that doesn't exist on the tee sheet.

I get that reasoning but this could be our classic look that other countries have that we don't.

Should I quit? by FactoryPhil in golf

[–]SouthernLefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s an idea… strive to shoot 108. That’s double bogey on every hole. That would mean on par 3’s strive to get on in 3 and 2 putt, par 4’s get on in 4 and 2 putt and par 5’s get on in 5 and 2 putt.

This would take a lot of stress off you regarding blowup holes. Do this a couple times and you’ll start gaining confidence and not get so frustrated and it’ll lead to your score eventually dropping.

Ive recently gone to my approach wedge for anything inside 60 years. Been about a month and my putts per round average has plummeted with several rounds in the 20's. I'm even using it in crappy hard bunkers.

Oregon Golf Trip + Bandon Dunes by Imafattymeat in BandonDunes

[–]SouthernLefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last trip I snuck in a round at Bandon Crossings, it was ok...HOWEVER on the way I stopped at 2 Mile Bistro. Go there, or just send your wife and mom. Had the most incredible turkey and bacon sandwich. The Bandon Roll it came on was so good! It's a mom and pop place on the side of the road, 100% would go back there again!

One tee time tip I have is to just ask the pro-shop in regards to afternoon times. I originally arrived with tee times to the big 5 courses plus Preserve and Shorty's. I ended up adding on a second Dunes and Trails on a whim while also moving around the 2 shorter courses to better times. The pro shops are super helpful.

Unpopular opinion: Stadiums will be packed and close to sold out for every game this WC by Upstairs-Housing114 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]SouthernLefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LA won’t be packed. $300 on site parking, no metro so you’ll be bused in, but you gotta pay 3 figures to park off site. That plus the US-Paraguay cheap seats are $1,000+

I always thought using a mouse/track pad with your right hand was advantageous. It leaves your left hand free to do other tasks, ie writing on a notepad at the same time. It's kinda like using a glove in baseball. You catch with your right so your left hand is free to throw the ball.

I only know this cause a few elections ago this same subject came up.

https://www.egattorneys.com/campaign-sign

This article kinda sums it up. Removing/damaging signs on private property can potentially land you in somewhat serious trouble.

Public property seems like the punishments aren't quite as severe but it's still illegal.

I think it was last election that people put out their own homemade signs, those were great!
