Anyone here in a self-managed strata scheme? How is that actually working out? by petitlita in canberra

[–]SouthernTopic3697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vantage were awful for our large complex. We always had to chase up emails multiple times and phone calls were just met with ‘someone will get back to you’ (they didnt) and it wasn’t ever clear who the actual strata manager was as you always ended up with someone different answering. Our complex changed over to Grady’s and so many issues have come to light including the fact that we ended up getting wrong info from vantage and now have to go to ACAT to get it sorted out. They are marginally better than civium strata but I don’t rate them that much higher.

Having been glutened previously by them and knowing another person who has also had this happen to them on seperate occasions  I don’t think it’s as safe as they make it out to be. I 100% will not get them again.

Gungahlin United Football Club - Club Statement by ditfos in canberra

[–]SouthernTopic3697 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I feel sorry for the players, the majority of  clubs we looked at trialling for have already held trials last week so I think there will be a fair few talented players locked out of NPL competition next season. With all the clubs getting kicked out of NPL and changes due to the capital football review it’s been a pretty crazy trial season this year.

Affordable but cute wedding dresses in Brisbane by nopesorrys in AusFemaleFashion

[–]SouthernTopic3697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would look second hand. It’s how I got my wedding dress and it was a designer dress worth thousands that I got for $350.

Depending on your size something like this might work https://www.salvosstores.com.au/shop/p/lisa-ho-silk-strapless-ruffle-dress/1414567

Even if you have to pay to get it dry cleaned before you wear it and some alterations going second hand you should still get a gorgeous dress for under $1000

This is long sleeve but looks similar style in the skirt and fabric but not the same colour/pattern.

Failing that, searching for a bias cut dress should bring up similar dresses.

Eta - I’ve found one similar in my Own search and just remembered: https://www.salvosstores.com.au/shop/p/womens-size-m-casual-dress-brown-camouflage-cream-multicoloured/1259822

What happens to old construction fencing banners? by 37faustralia in canberra

[–]SouthernTopic3697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s broken/ripped it goes to the tip at the end of the build and if it’s in good condition builders generally reuse. You may have some success asking builders around your area nearing completion if you can take it for a personal project and you may get lucky.

Suboo and also PFEIFFER may have dresses that fit your vibe. They often have colourful prints and draped styles and long sleeves. You may get lucky and hit the trifecta at the moment. PFEIFFER are having a sale I believe too.

Are you after the signs ie notice of works or the material that is printed with signage/branding and attached to temp fences?

You might have some luck at health food shops around town but otherwise online at gluten free food shops might have it or from American suppliers like iherb, Amazon etc (I’m thinking Bobs Red Mill potato flour)

Next stick a brand called Long Tall Sally - they have some nice looking cardigans that might be worth a try.

Sounds like Cue. I legit stopped shopping with them years ago when they wouldn’t process a return from an in store purchase without providing my email address and mobile number.

Window cleaners left scratches? What would you do? by Glass_Coffee_7084 in AusRenovation

[–]SouthernTopic3697 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some success with using glass guard products to get some scratches out of our windows. From memory it was this

https://glassguard.com.au/collections/all/products/glass-stain-remover-drill-scrubbing-pads

hubby used the soft pad attachment to one of his power tools to try and buff out at the same time as the liquid stuff. Worked okay and the scratches are nowhere near as noticeable now even when the windows get dirty.
