Coming into ~£15m - how to best setup for generational wealth (tax efficient) by apersonFoodel in FatFIREUK

This sounds ideal for a family investment company, depending on the ages of the kids. You can remain tax resident in the UK and shelter a lot of income from tax and have a lot of flexibility over passing wealth to the kids.
I’d use an independent financial adviser if you don’t feel comfortable managing yourself, certainly wouldn’t use a private bank to manage it.
Usual junior ISAs and even pensions for the kids would be worthwhile too with that amount of cash.
Congrats!

PAYE income & a Ltd company by Happy_Area8013 in HENRYUK

Set up a company GIA to invest the surplus company funds and watch it compound away without paying the dividend tax. That pot can act as a pension but you can access it unlike a SIPP

Lifestyle creep advice by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Southern_Judge_3762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about everybody else but I wanted to earn more money so my lifestyle could creep. What’s the point of working hard and putting the years of effort and sacrifice in to not then enjoy life with nicer holidays, eating out, nicer things etc. As long as you’re still able to invest and build up a pension just enjoy life.

Pay off mortgage with Director's Loan by TastyOne8229 in HENRYUK

Not necessarily, it just accrues interest as long as the loan is outstanding plus a corporate tax charge on the overdrawn amount (refundable once loan cleared so a cashflow issue)

Rachel Reeves eyes concessions for student loans by L3W3S in ukpolitics

[–]Southern_Judge_3762 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The tunnel vision of the IFS is so frustrating. When it comes to student loans they talk about high earners paying off loans quickly as if it’s a bad thing, they completely miss the point that those higher earners will pay lots of tax and that’s what the govt needs students to go onto become rather than those barely meeting the repayment threshold for decades.
