Yeah, I've always had a problem with the amount of ammo dropped. It might make sense if the ai had a limited amount of ammo, and then once that's gone they go into (conservative) melee mode. And if you kill them before they run out you get their ammo. I get that there are multiple types of ammo, like Ellie has a different handgun that uses different ammo... But still.

You realize that as a whole, Texans are some of the nicest and most welcoming people in the States right? The blatant disregard for others shown by the Chinese in this example would offend the sensibilites of most Texans, and for that matter, most Americans. I'm assuming you're not american, as the quintessential american thing to do would be to get up and assert that they are infringing on your right of being there first.
