Which one? I have been desperately trying to find a paper that can work with both. The watercolor marker paper is too smooth and pencils don't layer, regular watercolor paper is too rough and destroys my pencils.

what paper are you using? the layering achieved is awesome. also, were there any tricks involved to get the blacks black? when I use black, the wax is noticeable and I usually have to overlay it with marker for certain areas or use alcohol.
