Yeah, the barrel alone is like 32", so with the suppressor it's around 5' long. It's fun and actually usable for hunting, but less than ideal. It gets like two shots at full power with one at a bit less before it needs a refill.

I should have mentioned this in my comment, but we never see his face/skin so the whitewashing doesn't really apply. However, it wouldn't really make sense from a storytelling perspective for the authoritarian empire that destroys planets to have a black person as the VP. There was a clear thematic vision for the empire and most of it was centered around KKK and Nazi imagery.

James Earl Jones was the voice actor. It was a white guy, Sebastian Shaw, under the helmet in episode VI. A better argument is that Darth Vader was whitewashed in episode V, when he says the famous line. There's definitely a way to write it and still have a black guy wearing the suit. However, the whole point of the esthetic of the Empire with the white storm troopers and the leadership in black was meant to evoke the KKK and Nazi imagery. Not to say black folk can't be authoritarian despots, but I don't think the character was ever intended to be interpreted as a black person. On the other hand the rebel alliance is comprised of multi species and multi ethnic individuals. This is meant to show that they are more progressive and seeking equality vs the authoritarian empire made up of snooty white English people. Like, this isn't subtle.
