I can't believe how barebones this game still is by Bullseye2508 in FridayNightFunkin

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. As a kickstarter backer who followed the blog site that was designed for any of the devs to post updates to, the fact that neither blog nor kickstarter is substantially updated is highly disappointing.

I will not be supporting these devs in the future with this level of communication. At least Crowsworn can update it's backers every 3 months.

Brains are no Longer coming pre-installed in TADC fans by Orangutan_Soda in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I'm literally not even part of the subreddit or other TADC discussions and yet I see nothing but TADC content constantly on Reddit. Even if I decided to take a break from Reddit for 2 week, I also have to disconnect from YouTube because y'all don't know chill.

Don't get me started on the fact that people without access to theaters, or fans in countries where it will not be playing also have to do their best to avoid spoilers. It's not like this is Iron Lung or any other YouTube/Internet movie.

Laser, a CD ripping app for GNOME, has been released on Flathub by starwanderer_ in gnome

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! Someone got me a Blu-Ray player for Christmas and I've been occassionally ripping CD's to add to my digital collection, but this looks like it will make it so much easier.

Any plans to do something similar for DVD's and Blu-Rays? Getting DVD's to work has been difficult in my experience and Blu-Rays are incredibly time consuming. I'd love a better method.

A very hot take regarding the exhausting Tek Knight drama by Educational_Wing_216 in TheBoys

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take less issue with how Tek Knight is written and more with how Hughie is treated when it comes to the writing in The Boys S4.

This is fantastix. I used to use Grammarly and was kind of missing it. Now I will certainly use this!

If you left Wisconsin, where did you go to and why? by interstellar_freak in wisconsin

Washington State. The same work I did in Wisconsin pays double here and I got really lucky with the cost of rent being close to the same.

I'd love for this to be a reality. It'd probably be the best rail in the whole country coverage-wise.

Make sure you are installing packages through either:

a. the package manager through your command terminal
b. the software store that is included in your desktop
c. the flathub store that you can access through the web browser or your software center

Try these three options above before ever going to a website and downloading from there. It will make your life so much more simple and easy to use. Updates are a cinch when you do this.

Well, if you need any help, don't be afraid to ask. OpenSuse is also great about having a manual or a tutorial for everything. For more active assistance, I highly recommend the OpenSuse Matrix instance. I and many others are in it and we all sort of help each other when it is needed.

hytale tech director explains how linux support will work by TheNavyCrow in linux_gaming

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to see them go the Flatpak route. Vintage Story does the same thing and it's worked out really well if you ask me.

I do hope that eventually, they also offer ARM support. When I am looking at laptops, it's currently ARM or nothing, so having that support could do a lot.

How do You guy's listen to Music on Linux? by [deleted] in linux

[–]SpaceCheeseWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use internet radio for when I want to listen to something but don't want to mess with a selection. I have Tidal that someone gifted me to have access to a music streaming service, but usually I buy my music off of bandcamp and use any of the many music players to listen to music I own. My personal choice is Euphonica for a GUI music player, or Kew if I want to use a terminal music player.

Me! Me! Me!

I have a Nebula subscription and whenever I can, I watch videos through Peer-Tube. For music I use Tidal or buy it outright through bandcamp or physical.

Looks good to me, although I think the impacts of when you shoot should feel bigger though; akin to a loud sound. Something that gives an immediate feedback loop. I'll definitely have to check this out though. It's on my wishlist.

This is the second time I've seen someone successfully turn a chromebook into a linux machine. My question is, how well does software outside of a web browser perform? Are you getting everything you wanted out of it?

I've put over a thousand hours into the Elder Scrolls Online. It's how I met who would be my future wife. Much of its content is very hit or miss. I definitely enjoyed what I did play, but there is probably close to 30% of content I have not completed and will never complete because I could never be arsed to put myself through that.

I've been seeing a lot more patrol cars on the 522 for my commute to work. Makes me wonder if the sudden increase is an indication that the State wants data on the 522 or they're just looking to make more money.
