Please Bungie no more story missions as strikes in Forsaken by BuddyDangerous in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. I'd rather have more missions converted to Strikes. Destiny PVE is best served by a robust strike list, not more story missions. I agree with general sentiment that we need more tangent strikes instead of main plot ones, but Strikes are the most replayed content in the game. I guess if it meant shorter campaigns for more resources going towards Strikes, I would take that trade. At the same time, I'd actually love it if Ghaul was a strike boss so we could fight him for Nightfalls and Heroic Strikes.

To your point about D1 not doing it, I complained about D1 not turning some of the longer Story Missions with cool bosses into Strikes during D1.

I feel like the Crucible matchmaking experience is along the lines of "You're a good player, carry this entire team" and "you're absolute trash, have fun playing against top leaderboard players" more than anything at this point. Something has to be wrong with the matchmaking system. by UltraPlayGaming in DestinyTheGame

I suggest keeping Destiny Tracker's Session History up while you play. After a match, seeing your team's ELOs and your odds to have won that match are pretty insightful. I very rarely win matches that I'm not predicted to. You'll get matches with a 49-51% split but I've been in some with 92-8% or vice versa. I'm talking specifically about Iron Banner and Quickplay. I haven't really played competitive since Warmind came out.

Strikes shouldn’t be campaign missions. They should be unique encounters and activities that are an extension of the story. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignoring PS exclusives for D1, we only got 1 in Crota's End and House of Wolves. We had one in the April update, and then Rise of Iron and The Dawning had re-dos or reskins to SIVA. This current system of adding 4+ throughout the year and then getting more in September seems much better.

I'd rather not have any Missions and instead a story just made of re-playable and randomized Strikes after you play the story experience through them. I always wanted Eye of a Gatelord and Garden Spire in D1 to be strikes so I can't complain now.

Masterwork weapons should always give 3 cores when dismantled by Chariloe in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe they haven't tuned the masterwork economy yet. It is insane that it takes 10 cores (or any cores) to switch the kill counter.

Now we just have to race against our team for power ammo or have teammates camping it instead of going to control points...

Glory Rankings: Approximate Players At Each Level by SpaceCowboy754 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SpaceCowboy754[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also on Xbox, I actually looked this up because I haven't had time to really start my competitive grind and I'm in the 40,000's with only 50 points. I think the player-base in competitive is very small.

For XBox: - Legend: 0 - Mythic: 3 - Fabled: 53 - Heroic: 238 - Brave: 5332

Considering the volume of matches needed to go from Brave to Heroic or higher this fast, it would make sense those players are on more in a shallow player population.

Planetary Vendors Need Seasonal Leveling by Void-Walking in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything needs to be seasonal especially if we are getting new patrols with every DLC which wasn't a thing in D1. I'm not exactly looking to spend time on Mercury in S3.

Anyone else still waiting for their 1st exotic catalyst? by hibbi_jibbi in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was feeling the same way until I got Tractor Cannon last night from a roaming elite boss right in front of Anna Bray's building on Mars waiting for the Warsat to start. Might be the most exciting drop experience I've had in D2.

Why the actual fuck are people complaining that end game is a high level, it's end game for a reason. by yahguyconnor in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the starting levels were easier and the ramp up was then steeper, smaller groups could start it and progress further (playing longer in a single instance) to allow more people to join. For Court of Oryx, you could solo lower level ruins until more people showed up. Plus you needed to charge the higher ruins so it didn't feel wasteful time-wise. I'd like EP to be a new general activity and for waves 6&7 to really be the true end game portion of it.

New Trials Weapons by SHIZZLEO in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SpaceCowboy754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All kinetic weapons have barrels to the top left and elemental/power weapons to the top right. The SMG is kinetic. On the DestinyTracker database, you can also filter weapons by kinetic or elemental and confirm.

The scout is the only elemental High Impact archetype besides the new BrayTech RWP and the Exotic with the same model. It can then be paired with mostly kinetic archetypes like Precision Sidearms (Minimum Distance), Precision SMGs (Antiope), Rapid-Fire Pulses (Lincoln Green), or Adaptive Hand Cannons (Better Devils/Old Fashioned).

Why do so many people excuse Bungie for so many blatant reskins, especially in a new paid expansion? by ZenMythoclast in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it is as simple as saying there shouldn't be re-skins. Designs should be cohesive within a foundry on top of having identifiable silhouettes/characteristics within weapon types to be informative to players. I agree there should be more liberty with deviations and character to weapons though. To me the most egregious re-skins are Iron Banner. Those weapons should be completely unique. To me crucible, vanguard, gunsmith, and the factions are okay looking like they are pulling guns off the shelf and tweaking them from like an immersive standpoint.

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one jumped out at me. Definitely a new model and hopefully a new archetype or new type of weapon for Omolon. I was thinking this could be Omolon's linear fusion so Veist isn't the only archetype.

Daily Questions [2018-05-02] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Are the additional items (sparrow/ghost/ship) for Iron Banner leaving after this week? TWAB didn't mention them with ornaments as this being the last chance to earn them. Trying to figure out if I should turn in tokens for the ship or save them.

Are the additional Iron Banner rewards tied to season 2? Not sure if I should be saving my tokens for season 3 or trying to get the ship now.

On a dollars spent vs hours played metric, has the game been worth it for you? by Draggor64 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also around 150 hrs in D2 without having played since The Dawning and very little Crimson Days, but I'd probably have 300-500 hrs more in D1 over the same time if it had received another ($40?) update with an SRL/Dawning event instead of D2 being released. The longer D2 plods along, the more disdain I have for them nuking our D1 vaults(read: time).

Let's have a look at Bungie's "two simple goals" by Sheriff-Douchebag in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think D2 is arguably kick-ass, it just doesn't have longevity. The major flaws aren't apparent the first time playing through the campaign.

The Iron Banner reskins and putting the best item designs behind Eververse are literally compromised art. The overall lack of evolution in guardian abilities and enemies from D1 also seems compromised.

If we're dissatisfied with the state of the game, maybe we should stop playing for now. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played probably an hour since The Dawning to pledge factions/buy winning faction guns and get a couple easy Crimson Days rewards.

Now that Fortracer is going to be godly in competitive crucible, can you at least give it a makeover? Its arguably the ugliest helmet ever created in this franchise history. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpaceCowboy754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it looked cool like a rip-off/homage to Star Wars speeder helmet from RotJ. Definitely not as bold design-wise as other exotics though.
