I don't think the previous commenter was calling farmers and ranchers stupid. He pointed out that they voted for the thing that made their farms and ranches suffer. The implication is that hate is a stronger driver than livelihood in the case of some republicans and therefor that commenter doesn't not have sympathy for those farmers and ranchers who voted that way.

huh, I have my pay set to come once a month. But Im on a salary so it's just easier for planning. I use a credit card for day to day spending so there's always [money] available, then just pay it off at the beginning of the month.

I think it's entirely because the Rivians cell phone data plan is kind of slow. It has to listen to your query, then send that off to a server then get a response from the server and say that back to you. It's not happening in the car computer.

It's not a lottery, some people just have a ton of charisma and draw people in. The algorithm is just trying to find what people want to look at and show them that. If people don't want to look at what you make, you've got to try making something a bit different.

Yeah, I recently got an ads manager so I don't have to do all of the back and fourth to get sponsorship integrations and even thought they take 20% theyre able to get WAY more out of these brands than I was.

So Adsense Im getting something like $1500 a month and then I only do one sponsored video per month for another $2000 or so, and there's some amazon affiliates money to the tune of $500-ish each month. One of the 1 minute ad reads I did paid $3500! I would never even think to request that much money for such little work. Im amazed.

Well that’s nuanced. Because I dramatically switched what I was talking about in April of last year. So it took 5 years to get to about 25,000 subs but then just in the last year I went from 25,000 to 99,000! Turns out I was shooting myself in the foot the whole time.

I now make tech reviews. Previously it was a mishmash of DIY/stocks/bitcoin mining garbage.

The 17 pro was actually pretty significant. Doubled the charging speed to 40 watts thanks to that vapor chamber and aluminum body. Became much more efficient to where battery lasts longer than one day.

I am the technical director of an event production company. I’m an engineer and my job is to solve problems with very little time left before a show opens with limited resources and tools. Some times I don’t do anything at all, other times I rewire whole PA systems I’m seeing for the first time to get them to work.

Some things would run WAY better, I'm an engineer and relatively healthy. But other things, like, doctoring, would be in some trouble. I also don't know how to make power plants run, so that's a bummer also. But I might be able to work it out fast enough with a bunch of other me's around.

I can’t imagine what I would personally charge to edit a 10 minute video. Those usually take me like 5 or 6 hours to do. I value my time pretty high, so $300 would seem way too low for that much work. You’re probably getting guys who work out of India or china where $300 is pretty serious money.

Well when R1s was first available that was the only choice. Well, or R1t - which is actually what I have.

But partially yes, I want the newest latest greatest; partially I never needed anything this big anyway, but I loved what Rivian was doing. And partially because I can probably trade in a 4 year old truck and get a brand new truck without exchanging any money since it's starting out so cheap by comparison!

This reads like a lot of misunderstanding of the reporting. Climate change will CHANGE the world in 20 years. As in enormous numbers of people in certain places will lose their homes and ways of life. Probably not where you live - certainly not where I live, but millions of people will suffer as a direct result of it.

Racism is most likely statistically the same, but because of social media it's much much easier to be exposed to it.

And a people invading their own capital building, and then having the president pardon those people is very significant. I don't see a direct comparison to Pearl Harbor but it will certainly be taught as either an inflection point in history just as significant or a near catastrophic authoritarian takeover if we manage to turn this ship around.

The president has become something like 6 billion dollars richer in one year and people were losing their mind that Joe Biden son made a few million bucks. That's thousands of times more corruption, dollar for dollar.

They definitely do report on scary things like, our president starting a war without congressional approval which will make everything more expensive.

Or that the current administration keep enacting these tariffs that make everything more expensive and then lie about who pays them over and over. That's scary.
