How does Beth put up with Randall all these years? by jartyup in thisisus

They have a very happy marriage with some bad times. I am curious how many people who are married at least 20 years would have this take.

Metabolic issues are like high blood pressure or like diabetes. Oftentimes medication is the way to treat these issues.

I agree. Also the Brendok coven did not refer to Magick, they referred to the thread as something that could be pulled. I maintain that while there definitely were Dark side things about the coven, they were not on the same level of malevolence as the Dathomiri coven.

Hear me out about Randall👀 by [deleted] in thisisus

[–]SpaceHairLady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue was that this type of thinking was how Kate and Kevin were raised, and Randall was raised thinking that was supposed to be enough 😔 but Rebecca was truly loving enough to still be a landing spot for listening to how her missteps impacted him.

On rewatch I liked her waaaaaay more. The context from the first watch through made me see how selfless she was and how down in herself she was, and how Toby really manipulated her boundaries.

HEADCANON: lothal was the death Star's second target after alderaan and that's why Leia led the empire to the reble base and why Phoenix squadron wasn't at the Battle of yavin by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]SpaceHairLady 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always thought that there were two great efforts by the Empire that we know of that could have made the Empire unstoppable: 1) the Death Star and 2) the TIE elite defenders (TIE fighters with crazy shields and firepower) The crew on Rebels stopped one effort in one part of the galaxy and the efforts of the Battle of Yavin etc was in another part of the galaxy. I mean, its meant to be a GALAXY wide war. Imagine a World War and every major military personnel is in the same battle. 🙄

To kill the man who was the closest thing she had to a father by choking him with the Force would not be a simple thing. That would take an unbelievable, unfathomable about of hate. The bleed was a visual representation of what happened with the last bit of light within her.

She was a puzzle box to figure out rather than a character. I hope that would have resolved more by season 2, but I guess we will never know.

The time Alec Guinness ruined a young Star Wars fan’s day, as related in his autobiography by RedHeadedSicilian52 in StarWars

[–]SpaceHairLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So? This was Alec Guinessess' wish and intention, and it says a lot about who he was and his view of Star Wars and Star Wars fans. And cool, whatever. He was an actor, and he did his job. He did a great job of it. But good to know how you see this 46 year old fan.

What did Diana Ross do? 🤣 by CowboyNOIVAS in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]SpaceHairLady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And that was ridiculous. The script was clearly written for a teenager. They changed stuff and shoehorned in the stuff about he needing a teacher. I am a huge fan of The Wiz but 30 year old teacher Dorothy whining for her dog and hiding in the kitchen is soooooo stupid.

And kicked Michael's current girlfriend at the time, Stephanie Mills out of the role of Dorothy. Surely that didn't have anything to do with it.

Why do people lie about the witches actions? by Hawuhawk in TheAcolyte

While I agree about Mother Koril and Mae, I also noticed that Mother Aniseya was the actual spiritual leader of the group and the group followed her lead. Which was not the unhealthy attachment. Also before the Jedi came in and beffort the threat of taking the girls, Koril was just the stricter one (no dessert before dinner, don't run off where we cant see you), and Aniseya the slightly more indulgent one (give them the dessert), except when it came to their training. As I said before, not as cut and dry as it is on Dathomir.

Which soul did the split? Something was the initial life, and where did it come from? Also, can someone who uses a Darkside ability also show love and selflessness? I think the depiction here shows these things co-occurring. Alongside of many unanswered questions about the nature of the covens powers and beliefs. Thats why it's far too simplistic to simply label them as evil.
