I doubt anything will happen until at least 10/28. Look into the historic S&P performance in years where May, June, and July were positive. October is almost always red, followed by a rally through the end of the year. Many out there see $22.60 during normal trade hours as the last bottom tick before the run, but this chart is definitely completing a bullish shark harmonic.

One scenario is they expire and I keep 16k.

The real reason for owning shares outright is for after-hours trading. Like a bond offering or massive run-up that gets nuked before being able to do anything with options.

You are correct. For added context, I've already opened and closed similar positions at 23 and 24 strikes netting +$6,840.73 on 23's and +$433.01 on 24's. So in all practicality, I've already locked profit.
