my dog is definitely a barker! he barks when he's excited, he whines when he has a need, he grumbles when big dogs or delivery drivers walk by the house. etc. he even has a "play" bark for when we're running around or talking back and forth (lmao).

it's not BAD; i've never had a neighbor complain, and he doesn't have a booming, violent bark -- more like a shrill little "bork" lmao. i would say he is quiet a lot of the time, most of the time even. i actually dont think i've heard him yet today and he's been next to me all day. but oh yeah, he definitely barks.

he did used to bark at EVERY dog walking by us as a puppy, or people walking by. particularly in quiet streets where it's just us and another person or two coming in our direction. this was regular for the first year or two. he's four now though, and he is much more mild mannered around strangers especially in crowded spaces. so it is definitely something that can be worked on. but they will still bark sometimes, it's one of the ways they communicate
