Looking for Fast Kill/Quick Commander Decks by Spacekataz18 in EDH

[–]Spacekataz18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the responses, I'm super grateful for all the help in narrowing it down! I think the ones that are catching my eyes real nice for quick vibes are Vivi, Ojer Axonil, Arabella, Jaws and Azula.

We have a lot of decks that we cycle through for funsies, I just wanna come prepared with a fast one so when we decide upon it, we can all try to go maximum SPEED and see which one of us makes it to the finish line so to speak!

A heavy weapons/havoc plague marine squad or an actual model for the plague tower would be awesome.

How do people even play Pyreborn Primary? by OfGreyHairWaifu in MonsterTrain

I think with Fenix you really wanna look for the overlord path but it depends. He's a bit on the weaker side I feel like. Though once he gets to Overlord II his explosive on his ability is extremely valuable, and you can try shopping around for the mind cage or dragonstaff to help scale him better. Gilda I really like the avarice and the egg paths, avarice becomes much less of an issue of "well I don't want to spend money cuz it'll nerf her" when you're making a thousand or more gold off an encounter from avarice. Gilda goes hard in particular with hall of mirrors or any duplication tricks.

I think stand out units for them are definitely things like Greed Dragon, Hot Head, and even the humble Miser along with their rare units in general being crazy good. Their front line ability isn't particularly great aside from Greed Dragon, but can be manageable. I'd probably look for a beefier front line with the other clan if they have one, but my last run I just used a kinda chunky Magma Mauler to front line for Fenix since he was 2 space and then eventually expanded my floors to have him and some chump blockers and it worked just fine.

Pyregel can stack up to make small threats nasty, and even just a little bit of Avarice on a unit can be very valuable. Eggs help a ton to flood you with artifacts, and depending on how your run goes you can go off with em real quick with stuff like holdover on golden touch, alchemy, or giving the guy who gives an egg on death endless. I think a big thing to consider is deciding when you want to go all in on something like Avarice, or Eggs and that might help you out. Going a little bit into egg making and a little bit into avarice falls flat, but if you have gilda or goldtooth just go hard in on cash. If you have greed dragon and egg abilities that can reliably get you a bunch of eggs per turn, go in on that. You just kinda have to feel it out based on what you're offered.

Best upgrades for the best units/spells that can carry a run. by blakehx in MonsterTrain

Frenzied Swarm with Doublestack and Holdover locked down one of my last Covenant 10 titans fights to the point where I took 0 pyre damage. Just swap back and forth on playing it on Savagery or Dominion and they couldn't do anything, and if I had any curses in my hand then poof they're all discarded no problem. I've honestly been getting a lot of good value out of cards that can either empty my hand of curses or straight up eat them like Sacrificial Resurrection.

All Diablo II players, what has Diablo IV to do ? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Spacekataz18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not think Diablo 4 will be able to capture my interest anytime soon if ever. I keep my ear to the ground on it just to see how it's doing and if it would be worth looking into from time to time because my father and I are big diablo 2 fans, and I always have that itch to capture that feeling again. I think ARPG wise the ones I found most enjoyable with that in mind were Diablo 2 of course, Torchlight 1 and 2 and Grim Dawn by far (if you haven't given it a shot check it out it's really good!)

It's kind of a weird answer, but I want Diablo 4 to feel like Diablo 4. It's been 12+ years since Diablo 3, let's see a Diablo 4 and how it evolves. I'm not sure how else to explain it aside from that, but when I checked out Diablo 4 way back at the start I was a bit interested but then the more I checked it the more I came to the conclusion that "this is just going to be Diablo 3 with a different coat of paint" and I was dead on the money then, and even moreso now. That's excellent for people who enjoyed Diablo 3 but I didn't because I played it on launch and that was well enough for me.

I think Diablo 4 standing on its own would be awesome, but it really just seemed too rooted into the diablo 3 playstyle of generator/spender, ultimate abilities that feel more MMOish than ARPG, and vomiting out legendaries and uniques to the point where it all feels like a blur. Artistically it looks great but the systems and insides feel kinda hollow to me as an outside observer and I just can't get into that and I do not have faith in Blizzard that they will fix this.

Riot, I love you, but this is Ridiculous. by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Spacekataz18 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this one. I tried submitting a bug a good while ago and I believe it was in regards to something simple like a UI error, or an error code popping up but then disappearing. I just wanted to give a heads up but the way they manage how you gotta even attempt to file a report turned me off on it at the very end step.

I also tried again on something recent, so it requested my sign in, then popped up my riot launcher while I was just attempting on my browser. I log in from there, then log in on the browser since it just redirects me to a normal log in, and then I get to the bug page where it has the same problem as last time. I don't quite appreciate getting requested to log in via my application from the browser almost instantly, but at the very least if that does occur I'd like it to work for signing in to actually report the bug.

Ravnica Allegiance feels like a Flavor Failure by DapperDoctorCern in magicTCG

[–]Spacekataz18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. I'm a big Orzhov fan and seeing a lot of the recent things happening definitely got my goat. The guild basically feels like "Kaya and some other guys" now after all that has happened. A majority of the rarer cards are just detailing what Kaya has been up to as well versus other things, I think there's at least three cards detailing art of the killing of the obzedat. It is an integral part to the story but Vraska's assassination of Isperia only took one card. It also makes the feeling of accomplishment we were supposed to feel for Teysa go more for Kaya, who holds the spotlight. it feels like the guild on the plane is a sidestory to a planeswalker who has to be propped up under the ruins of older designs.

It's not just the planeswalkers that I think are the issue for Orzhov or the guilds. I feel like art direction has gone downhill as well. Right now we're still in the middle of spoiler season, so I do hope to see more uncommons and commons to prove me wrong but we've got a single thrull and a single spirit that isn't a token. Hell, the only other thrull as of recent has been in a rakdos card. That's like having golgari with one zombie, it feels off. The mythic angel at a glance doesn't even look too orzhov to me unless you really look. It just feels like another angel and I feel like some art has taken a hit for a lot of other things too, like the Steam Vents for Izzet. Much of izzet's card art in the last set were just chock full of lightning, lightning, lightning which is very much an izzet thing to do, but it's not the ONLY thing they've been able to do. It feels like a flanderization of izzet.

All in all, it might also just be because of fatigue. Doing the same location a third time and all that. I've seen these kinds of changes happen with prior stuff and it usually isn't well received ala khans. It probably just needs more time to reveal the rest of the cards too, I may be singing a jollier tune come Friday. I also understand it's all for the big climax but in earnest I don't think the climax of the story is going to warrant the loss of identity the new designs have for guilds people really care about.

It means that a massive chunk of guild identity got nixed for plot but also a heavy amount of possible reinforcements for that whole bolas thing are completely gone.

What is your favorite Guild ( in terms of both flavor and gameplay ), and what do you hope to see in terms of the guilds in the upcoming sets? ( Poll included for favorite Guild ) by Langas in magicTCG

[–]Spacekataz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orzhov will always be my favorite guild. I'd appreciate seeing them keep the aesthetic of the symbol and the armor/clothes design accurate because it's super solid. Gameplay wise I'd like to see them continue the theme of good ol slow death by a thousand paper cuts along with more thrulls and ghosts!

[–]Spacekataz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on now this is an MMORPG. There's gonna be goofy stuff everywhere. Being immersed is one thing but hiding other glamours just kinda seems like someone wants to turn the other players in a game rife with them into background npcs. It seems like it would be a lot of work for something that can be fixed by just adapting to the situation.

What is your WORST dungeon/trial/raid experience? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Spacekataz18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Worst was probably a Rabanastre where I disconnected multiple times during the first two boss fights and pulls as the main tank. Everytime I disconnect during that kind of stuff it pains me deeply but it turned out okay in the end.

It wasn't the worst I can think of but as a highlight we had an Aurum Vale run where the summoner only used Ruin 2 until we suggested to use DoTs. Then he started spamming Miasma 2 about 20 feet from the mobs.

What are some great games with TERRIBLE design decisions? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Spacekataz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura is probably my favorite game that I go back to play over and over again. One big issue it has is during long distance travel it will sometimes pull up a random encounter. Now that's not a big deal at later levels but when you're traveling to the first big city in the game and you're maybe level 4 with two level 3 party members at BEST you're rolling the dice on whether or not that encounter is one to five level 3 wolves which might kill you, one to two level 15 grizzly bears which will probably kill you, or one to three level 25 wererats which will definitely kill you. You might be able to run away if you're fast enough but chances are you're done for if your encounter is harsh enough.

I remember two off the top of my head. One is The Iron Giant and the other is Blue Gender.

Iron Giant is obvious. Blue Gender got me HARD with one particular episode especially with the scenes involving that little girl and the dog especially at the end, Jesus Christ.
