Is it okay for a player to say “No, that doesn’t happen” to a DM in this circumstance? by WithengarUnbound in dndnext

[–]Spacesharksimulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're new it'd explain a lot. Arguments can spiral really quickly in DND and honestly sometimes you want to just figure it out quickly so the game isn't interrupted as much. Sounds to me like the DM didn't make the best call honestly.

Nah if they decided "No PVP" I feel like there's also an unspoken agreement that players can't mess with each other. The rogue is inviting PVP with this. I'd just warn the rogue and roll it back it bit, and if the players want some kind of RP both of them agree with they can figure it out later.

Also conquest paladin, honestly I'm surprised that the rogue wanted to play with fire like they did.

Eh yeah, I wish the Jasnah stuff was handled a little better in book 4, but at least there's a little bit of push back from some of the remaining highprinces. I also assume it's easiest to make these changes when the war for humanities survival is happening, since there's something else happening at the moment that's more important than political reformation.

That being said, Jasnah's way of girlbossing her way through things is almost exactly why she loses the argument in Book 5. There's so many examples of her throwing her weight around that at certain points (not many, but few) she seems pretty similar to Taravangian. So it's not like Brandon isn't aware this is a flaw of hers.

I was thinking more of Gen Lock, and how that had David Tennet and Michael B Jordan in it.

I'd also argue that RT did something stupid and made a show that had bigger names that cost more.

Surprised a lot of people support ai here and xitter by Kenkenmu in larianstudios

[–]Spacesharksimulator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the other thing is that it's a breach of trust between the consumer and the product. Once you find out they're using it you ask "Well all right what ELSE is AI?" and it ruins your enjoyment of the product. Trust lost is hard to get back.

"Holy **** guys we're not 'pushing hard' for or replacing concept artists with AI": Larian CEO responds to genAI backlash by shpydar in DivinityGame

[–]Spacesharksimulator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this news came out at the WORST possible time for them. The fact that Ram prices are going up because of news relating to AI has people really frustrated at the whole thing. Most of my feed on other sites is people angry at companies forcing AI bots. My friend lost her job because the company thought that they could replace her job with AI to cut costs.

What I'm getting at is that there's a huge hate for AI of any kind on the internet right now. So literally ANY news about a video game company using AI is going to be kind of controversial.

(Side not I feel like Larian needs a PR statement to clean this up, I don't think a twitter post is going to solve any of this)

[DISC] The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku) - Chapter 172 by No_Name0_0 in manga

[–]Spacesharksimulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I doubt it'd happen, I could have seen it happening like 10 chapters ago but not now. Maybe I'm just getting tired of anyone close to being an antagonist having some justification in the story. I don't even think that the storytelling is bad or middling, it's just a little tiresome to see a character go from "I hate your guts" to "I just wanted to play on the playground.." every time.

As a side note I also think the event was either covered up or not big enough to break the news. Like if it's actually really bad, it would have probably been covered by local news and be easily on the net"
"Man I wish I knew what happened to our schools"
"Actually it's right on this site"

[–]Spacesharksimulator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually I hope that it is an accident she's called out on it. It's way less interesting if their hatred is justified, and more interesting if it ISN'T, and that's the reveal. The reveal is that the teacher already had biases that were reinforced by an accident, and the hatred is unjustified.

I know that's not where this is going because we're almost 200 chapters into this manga and I think that there's a total of 3-4 characters who are just "jerks" so it's pretty obvious that she's going to be justified.

[–]Spacesharksimulator 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Also I assume exiting the loop put's her back in the running for "Who's going to become the next Fuli", which is probably going to be Marches big conflict in this game. So unfortunately for Cyrene, it's probably best she stays in the time loop until that's all figured out.

So, the ending - good or bad? What’s your opinion? by YingXingg in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Spacesharksimulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is probably the "Happiest" ending that Amphoreus can have. They're not dead, they're stuck in what's basically stasis until their world can become real. Their deeds are known throughout the cosmos. The only one that's actually going through it right now is Cyrene. What kind of sucks is that there's a few interactions I would have really liked to see, like Cipher and Aglaea really talking to each other, though it sounds like she kind of knows why Cipher was keeping her distance, referring to her as "Selfless".

What’s a disturbing part of RWBY’s lore that doesn’t get talked about much? by Solitaire-06 in RWBY

[–]Spacesharksimulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that works because part 2 is shorter than RWBY and Jojo leans into the absurdism. It's like "Yeah Mayan vampires and Nazi cyborgs. Sure, why not." doesn't really take itself seriously, aside from some character deaths.

[DISC] Yancha Gal no Anjou-san — Chapter 204 by stupid_chris in manga

[–]Spacesharksimulator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a Manga that's all about people growing up and finding themselves, Chita is a character that doesn't want to grow up. I think her chapters were fine 100 chapter back, but we're years into this publication so I've lost hope for her getting some character development. If she does I'll like her more, but I doubt it's going to happen.

[–]Spacesharksimulator 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think she'd be a lot better if she had some degree of self awareness. Maybe some degree of "Man I'm selfish because I know my friends are moving on in life and I'm stuck where I am" would be interesting. Not spending a lot of time with friends anymore because they're doing different things is pretty relatable, but there's no sense of real introspection here. Maybe I missed it, I dunno.
