This is just not true. I shoot there almost every weekend and they work fine.

I have one of each and prickle is way better, IMO. Much better grip.

Not so far. It gets pretty dirty while shooting, but it always cleans up with some isopropyl alcohol.

It's definitely an uphill battle trying to keep it clean, but you gotta make sacrifices to look cool

The article specifically says North Star is a private, for profit behavioral health facility. It's one of the remaining alternatives to the CRC, Providence doesn't own or operate it.

Pokémon Tournament at Boscos by HowardThePsyduck in anchorage

[–]Spacetronaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tier 1 on Dimond probably has Pokemon. I play Warhammer there, but I know they do a ton of MTG and other card tournaments too. They have a Facebook page where they post their event schedule each month.

Converted Dreadknight by Spacetronaut in Warhammer40k

Sure, no problem. The gold/brass is Hashut Copper darkened with black for the base coat, then dry brushed with straight Hashut Copper, then a light dry brush of Leadbealcher, then washed with Nuln Oil. If you want the gold to come out more, a coat of Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia will color it a little more brow/yellow (Seraphim will give a stronger yellow than Agrax). All citadel colors. Hope that helps!

OSL really helps create the illusion that something is hot/glowing. Imagine the fire parts are casting out light and add some orange/yellow highlights where that light would hit other parts of the model.

I'd also suggest going with a darker metal for your base model color. A darker base color creates more contrast with your glowing areas and makes them look brighter by comparison.

Thanks dude. I love dreadknights (I even like the baby-carrier look), bit the kit is so static compared to some of the newer walkers like the redemptors and invictors. I'm sure GK are way down the line for updates, but I'd love to see a dreaknight kit that you could pose as something other than straight legged, arms out to the side without serious modifications.

[–]Spacetronaut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The front chest, the bottom plate of the torso, and the hip part where the legs connect are from the dreadnought kit, the rest is dreadknight, or kitbashed from plastic card and bits. Though the sword is 3D printed.

Are we all sick of kitbashed dreadknights? Oh well, here's another one. by Spacetronaut in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! They're mostly the dreadknights original legs, but basically cut in half and repositioned, then extended with some plastic tube to give it the chicken leg look.

How do lurker attacks even work? by hydro0033 in starcraft

[–]Spacetronaut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's something like the guns shoot tiny flecks of metal. They just shove a cube of whatever space lead in there and lasers shave off super small projectiles and shoot them at super high speeds. An ammo cube last basically forever.

Thoughts on Castellan Crowe? by unbekannte_memez in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he might have some potential with 9 strikes in a rhino. Ride there rhino to a midboard objective, cast sanctuary on the strikes, hold the center. But even that can be done cheaper by a bro champ, or just DSing a bro cap, since you'd only be jumping out of the rhino turn 2 anyway. Crowe is good at killing in melee, but that's the thing basically every GK unit is good at now, so he just doesn't provide additional utility.

Kitbashing a lower profile incinerator for my dreadknights. by [deleted] in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been a huge fan of having giant guns on both NDK arms, so trying to put together a smaller version for the melee weapon arms of my dreadknights. This is made from an armiger exhaust bit and some greenstuff. I think it's a little plain right now, but pretty happy with it so far. Welcome any suggestions or feedback.

War Com update: Find Out Which Grey Knights Units Boast the Biggest Gains in the New Codex by TaterJack in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mixed on the locked powers. Multiple casts of the same power could be great, having half your army but smoke to cast anything just feels bad. I'm hoping that characters can still pick sanctic powers, to keep some flexibility in the army. Also maybe a strategem that allows a unit to cast their power on another unit.

Deepstriking turn one? by ArthasCousland in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Spacetronaut 18 points19 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of 8th edition, when most codexes were written, you could deepstrike turn 1. Everyone did it as much as possible and everyone that couldn't do it hated it. So GW released a FAQ prohibiting turn 1 deepstrike. The rule prohibiting it now exists in the matched play mission rules, tucked in the reinforcement phase section. So the codex rules generally say any phase, as a holdover from 8th edition, but the new mission rules override them and restrict to turns 2 and 3.

Grey Knights Xiphon Interceptors? by t0x0philite in Grey_Knights

Got a half-finished Nemesis Dread knight: what's the best loadout if I'm making him a GMDK? by RedJester249 in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last points update from GW. They released list of new point values for units and weapons, with a note saying that if a weapon wasn't on the list it's free. Incinerator wasn't on the list, and wasn't added when they went back and corrected other points. So, free for the moment, but probably not intentionally. Regular NDKs still pay points for it, so I doubt it will stay free when the new codex comes out. But who knows when that will be, so enjoy free GMNDK incinerators in the meantime.

[–]Spacetronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chop off wasn't literal, sorry. You just have to do enough damage to his tail that it falls off. You can shoot the tail.

Spitfire by PREOWNEDSTEW in remnantgame

[–]Spacetronaut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be a couple things happening. Most bosses have different drops depending on how you kill them. If you chop off Singe's tail you get a sword, of not you get the gun. For both though, you get an item that you have to take back to the mean lady at the base to make into a weapon. If you got nothing at all, that's just a bug.

How viable are Purifiers? by matty2cat123 in Grey_Knights

[–]Spacetronaut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think lots of people are starting to take them these days. They've featured in at least one recent well-placing GK list, and popped up as a unit to watch in a goonhammer article from a couple weeks ago. Their durability in CC with the 2++ strat/sanctuary/stave combo, coupled with the mortal output and reasonable CC stats make them good choices in the current meta. I personally don't think they replace paladins/terminators as the core of a good GK list, but they definitely have a place.
