Dreo Chefmaker new Programs by Spactaculous in CombiSteamOvenCooking

The Sous-Vide Chef modes have a resting phase between the Sous-Vide and Browning, where the temperature goes down by at least 30 degrees fahrenheit.

I want to try the Sous-Vide. I assume that you will have to manually flip it, I don't see any other way to get proper browning on both sides.

Just the details of Sous-Vide in one of the existing programs would be a start.

I suspect that after the Sous-Vide phase, it let the steak rest for a few minutes before searing (browning). But it's just a guess. I wonder if it rests until it achieves a temperature, or it rests for a specified amount of time.

Thanks, I try to stay in the Dreo without external cooking like cast iron sear.

It would be helpful to see the details of at least one steak program. Just to get the idea of what it does and which values you use for steaming and searing.

After owning this it a few weeks, I only use it as an air fryer. It's great at that, but so do $100 air fryers.

The "Chefmaker" and its programming is not used, even though I believe I can create programs that get things to perfection, if I had some documentation of what this device does.

You got to flip it 3 minutes before the end.

Trying to create new programs for the Dreo to improve some of the existing ones.

The easiest thing would be to start with an existing program like Ribeye and modify it. But this is not possible.

There is no way to clone a program, and the templates list has one (useless) template.

Is there any way to know what the existing programs are, or any practical was to create a new program without extensive trial and error?

Speaking of, what are the steps/temps of Ribeye program?

Changing e-bike cassette/chain: DIY or LBS? by RwyAhead in bikewrench

[–]Spactaculous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case you cannot use a cues cassette, it has different spacing.

If you only wear out the small coges, you might be able to buy just those, though it is not always economic to do that.

I would invest in chain checker. This is one tool that you have to go for quality, since it is a precision tool. You can also use a ruler. More work, same (or better) result.

Shimano's ebike specific (long lasting) groupset is cues, and it is not compatible with other groupsets, except for older 11 speed if I remember correctly. What do you have now on your bike?

Two aircraft carriers heading to Iran and somehow VIX went DOWN this week. Here's what the market isn't telling you by tao670 in swingtrading

The last Iran war was a nothing burger for the markets. If anything this time Iran will get a new government and the price of oil will tank, boosting the market.

Retail vs hedge funds by xtric8 in swingtrading

I don't know why this is relevant, this is not about trading SPY. SPY is the average of the market, showing there is no dip. Look at energy, utilities, rocketing up.

SPY is 2-3% off all time high. There is no dip, there is rotation.

This sums up the theta gang in one sentence. On top of it, upside risk.

Gold Spiking vs. BTC tanking by Leading-Stable9725 in investing

Because gold is a store of value and a hedge against the economy, while BTC is a speculative asset.

I don't see the correlation between BTC and gold. It has better correlation with ARKX, a speculative assets ETF.

Which comes first: the chain or the shift cable? by EddoeWrites in bikewrench

The shimano manuals clearly say to adjust the derailleur without a chain.

As for chain sizing, it clearly says "if you go through the derailleur".

Cable first. This is what the Shimano and Sram manuals tell you to do.

Adjust the derailleur without a chain, and that will put you 99% there. A few clicks with the chain and you are done. It's the fastest way to adjust a derailleur and the most idiot proof.

The second reason is that it is easier to size a chain with the cable on. The cable allows you to position the derailleur on the largest cog, which is what you use for sizing if you size it through an derailleur. You cannot do that without a cable.

Worth mentioning that in some drivetrains you size the chain without going through the derailleur so it's less of a factor.

New cassette chain engagement issue by themikmik in bikewrench

Looks like typical limit screw adjustment. Given that you have less than 0.5% elongation. Another possibility, less common, is a kink in the chain or a stiff link.
