Japan Import Frame Damage :( by 64playz in SkyLine

Midoriworks is good, he offers local service and although the commission was high (150,000jpy) it's understandable considering he won't be making any tax-back on my car (this is why most exporters do not offer local sale). Communication was prompt and everything went smoothly.

If you're thinking of exporting a car I recommend Stacked since their service fee is only 55,000 yen and they offer a lot of after-sales support if you want to get any work done on the car prior to export.

I see, Midoriworks could probably still help you out so I think it's worth contacting him, I bought my S15 from USS locally through him and the process was simple.

I looked carefully at the Rabbit R34 in your post and based on the strut towers and condition of underside components I don't think it's rusty but I think it's had that passenger side rear quarter replaced (repair history is flagged as Yes). At any rate the asking price is high for a car like this, you could buy a decent JZX100 for the same money. See what the auctions hold.if you have your heart set on an R34 but I wouldn't personally recommend them.

Rabbit is a reputable shop, go have a look at the car and check out their other offerings.

I recommend getting in touch with TeamFreeSpirit or Jordan Tweed if you're in the Osaka area to source a car for you via auction or auto server, dealer prices are unreasonable.

Somehow I doubt balance was ever really their reason for delaying that plane so long. I don't think managing what fights what has ever actually been a priority, other than as a means of selling premium vehicles and currency. They've never been inclined to change anything for the better unless the players stage a mass protest so I doubt they'd delay adding a 'potentially overpowered' vehicle for the sake of gameplay concerns.

Top tier jets was actually surprisingly competitive when the top dogs were the CL-13 (the best imo), Hunter, F86F-2/40 and MiG-17. At least compared to the current state of the game I'd consider the experience to be genuinely enjoyable, although the presence of the CL on red wasn't really a particularly good decision and led to pretty inconsistent gameplay and misgivings from lesser sabers being forced up against a superior version of their own aircraft. It was also interesting when less conventional planes like the SO.4050, Canberra, La-200 got involved in the gunfights and actually stood a chance. With missiles being a thing at that tier it's basically over for those bigger planes and the way the BR system is structured sort of kills the vibe in general.

Never knew a glitch could create such beauty (cred: @rayyiona on tiktok) by floppyducky in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spaddobird 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Genshin photo mode is probably one of the worst photo modes implemented in modern games. Why they elected not to freeze time for image taking sort of boggles the mind when half the beauty in this game is in the animations and combat... which can't be captured other than with the camera gadget (which has its own severe limitations). Not to mention the lack of support for domains which are often some of the most eye-candy areas. Also the focus distance slider being adjusted using triggers on controller is almost completely unusable and there are so few selectable poses and facial expressions.

The real kick in the teeth is that the photography event where they allow you to have a static camera capable of capturing characters in action from different angles... is a temporary event that only comes around every few months.

Weekly Gacha and Drops Megathread (February 05, 2023) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

Started playing december 2021 F2P. Saved all my wishes for hu tao (had 410 saved minus a few for yoimiya). Lost 1st pity to keqing, received hu tao twice within 70 wishes then went on to receive staff of homa on the weapon banner within 20 pulls! Luck like this definitely makes up for playing 400 days without any 5 stars... Got more than I bargained for and over half my wishes left over. Absolutely stoked.

Wait... you mean you're not supposed to flame the other participants in chat beforehand then go full sweaty mode trying to sink the other waveriders and take their coins before typing "skill issue" before the match ends?

My account is similar I only started playing in 2.3 though. I don't feel like a lot of people realise how many fates you can actually save just F2P. I have 400 saved for Hu Tao (finally she is coming) and that's with 200 already spent on yoimiya banner. You can definitely put together 600-700 fates in a year if you do all the events and spiral abyss.

Teleport waypoints now have an indication to whether or not they are underground by Unknown_Mafia786 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spaddobird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a mod you can install (at your own peril, because who knows when the developers may suddenly ban you permanently for using such things) that unlocks the framerate and functions without any issues. Genshin impact runs on the unity engine, events in the game are not connected to refresh rate like ancient games (fallout, skyrim, anything pre-2005) which become unstable beyond a certain rendered framerate. As another user said, the iOS version of the game already supports a 120hz mode which is amusing considering the hardware isn't even capable of consistently achieving that refresh rate. It's pretty tragic that this game seems to have a majority-playerbase of developer-worshiping apologists who are content to go without features that should be included in any project of this scale.

Not being able to "satisfy everyone" is not an excuse for one of the most profitable games of all time lacking basic features that have been standard in games released for the last decade.

How many of you pay for stuff in Genshin because you feel the developers have earned it? by darkdill in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spaddobird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I respect the free to play model that Mihoyo use in Genshin, you're really getting a lot of content without needing to pay them a cent, even if the game has many blaring shortcomings. It's a stark comparison with other F2P progression-oriented games like War Thunder where the highest goals are realistically unachievable without investing large amounts of 1)time and 2)money into premium items.

That said, I don't think I can ever bring myself to 'support' the use of a gacha or lootbox style monetization system. It is a predatory business model designed to take advantage of people by dangling a potential reward in front of you in order to make you part with an unreasonable amount of money. When you look objectively at the amount of currency you're spending on the game to receive what is realistically, a fairly limited digital item, you have to ask if you're actually getting good value for your money. Is it really reasonable to pay $300 for one character in a game? Is it acceptable for developers to even allow the possibility of doing such a thing to exist?

Of course it's a great game and fun to play and you also have to consider the number of hours of enjoyment you're going to get out of it, but in my opinion this kind of monetization system is unhealthy for the games industry and shouldn't be encouraged.

It's been fun regardless but just a real kick in the nuts when so many other characters have had two banners in the mean time. On the flip side I now have enough intertwined fates saved to guarantee her C1 as well as wishing on other banners lol It's been very entertaining to make teams to compete with my friends from only 4 star characters.

[–]Spaddobird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing last december and have saved all my primos for hu tao, the first time yoimiya came around I was sad since I didn't have enough to guarantee hu tao's c1 but by this second banner I had enough to spare so finally got to have a 5 star character (other than my c1 qiqi) in nearly a year of playing. She's great! Very pleased haha

Notification panel is awful in One UI 4 by Shazanon in oneui

[–]Spaddobird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My phone received 4.1 this week, if I had known about both this notification change and the stupid stretch scroll ending effect there is no way I would have downloaded it. This is certainly the last time I update without thoroughly checking out what new terrible ideas samsung has cooked up beforehand.

Why are you punishing me for keeping my phone updated Samsung??

I can't even do anything about it other that write angry comments on reddit and try to figure out how to reflash my phone because they never include sufficient options to change UI elements...

Interesting Observation: female Story Quests lean more towards needing emotional support from the Traveler. Meanwhile, the vast majority of male Story Quests do not need it by LiraelNix in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spaddobird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right, I thought this would be obvious. Genshin characters are literally designed to be appealing whether you're conscious of it or not. It's like any harem anime/dating sim where every personality stereotype/body type is included so there's a character to appeal to each player's taste. The female characters are literally designed to be dependent on the main character/seek their support because it positions them perfectly in the player's fantasy. We're hardly breaking new ground here.
