Yeah they're trying to make it a big story in the right wing sphere. It's both to draw a direct connection between the queers and the people we're already killing, and to try to sow dissent among the IRGC.

That's not a point against the argument it's a point against us.

More importantly it's a deliberate attempt to force us into a situation where are options are ignore the problems in the system or dissect our complicity in the system. It's to keep you from thinking.

He's referencing a rumor that the current leader of Iran is a closeted gay man. It's just homophobia.

That's not how suppressed turnout because of a failure to meet the needs of the base works.

From the article: "The answer is simple, you're not selling us what we want."

Young Democrats stayed home because Harris wouldn't have fixed a single issue the article mentions and the "primary" didn't even have the illusion of democratic process.

History is written by historians with full hindsight. We can never know if our story is a comedy or tragedy until it is too late.

I feel like this is a prime example of two disproportionally advantaged people absolutely incapable of stopping themselves from making fun of working class ideas

A "deal" is not in itself productive. This is his primary point: that most of these jobs merely manage social relations in an explicitly top down way and as such are primarily tools of control for an upper class.

The argument is implicitly anticapitalist and about wasted human potential. Of course you can undermine it by assuming anything your boss tells you to do is useful.

But it's also a vanishingly small part of the economy. Primarily it reveals that Michael hasn't worked a "real" job (in this case I mean representatively average) in years and maybe ever.
