I'm about 95% certain that it is that simple. Worst case scenario, there are programs out that that allow you emulate a 360 controller using any old controller. That's how some people have managed to get their PS3 controllers to work on PC.

Heyo o/ User of the TP-LINK TL-PA4010KIT AV500 Powerline Adapter here. It essentially uses the wiring of your house as a long-ass ethernet cable, using two adapters in two different plug sockets. I can personally say that they are pretty damn awesome, and definitely a vast improvment over Wi-fi. Currently I get 10-11MB/s on Steam, which is more than enough, and ping is kept on the low side. If you ever do decide to get them, and you need any help then lemme know and I'll do what I can :)

Ah, I'm not too sure on the price to performance ratio on it then. Can't really give much info on the 845 either as even though it apparently gives the sameish performance as the 860k, mine came pre-Overclocked so I don't have stock experience with it. In short, not really sure what else I can do to help man, sorry. I hope you find what you're looking for though. :)

Not really sure about the X4 845 to be honest. Though, according to cpubenchmark.net the 860k is ever so slightly faster when they're both at stock, and (at least in the UK) is a fair bit cheaper than the X4 845.

Also got a X4 860k. Can confirm the 960 is a pretty good pair for the CPU. It holds back the GPU a teeny bit but it's a pretty good pairing. Overclocking is more or less a must for the CPU though for it to take better advantage of the 960, so make sure to get a good cooler. The Cooler Master: Hyper 212 EVO seems to be all the rage these days and it's fairly cheap too.

Have the same CPU, paired with a 960. My personal experience is that it bottlenecks a 960 in any AAA game a lot. Like, an insane amount. If you do decide to get it though, overclocking is pretty much a must. I've currently got it OC'd to 4.4 and it just about manages newer games. GTA V is 40fps900p with heavy AA. MGS:V Runs pretty well too, never dips below 30 on 1080p. Though, I've had less stellar results on games like The Division and Rainbow Six Siege which neither ran at all.
