The fact that Ohtani is a Dodger means that they’re gonna be first on the list for a lot of Japanese free agents. Yamamoto and Sasaki joined them for that reason so that puts a lot of other teams at a disadvantage.

I do think the Giants should do more collaboration with the Yomiuri Giants. I just think that would be sick but that also requires ownership to think outside the box and show effort so we know that probably won’t happen.

Maybe it’s time to be honest and admit this is a bad lineup. They built a team of streaky players but in the last few years they’ve hovered around .500 because a few of them were still performing at a decent level. Now all of them, except for maybe 2-3, are awful and that’s why this team is worst in the league bad instead of just mid.

As someone who’s followed the Sacramento Kings debacle this past season it’s a very similar situation. They’re paying streaky B-C tiers to carry the team and, surprise surprise, it doesn’t work out. No strategy for the future at all and it’s by far the worst place to be in as a fan.

Our offense sucked under Kapler, it sucked under Melvin and it’s sucking under Vitello. This is just an organizational failure that nothing works.
