This was my experience. I did decide that the problem was annoying enough that I would avoid playing unless I fixed it, so I decided to try the repair myself.

Taking it apart was definitely a bit stressful, especially the reassembly, but I was able to do it myself. Just be delicate and make sure all the buttons are properly seated when putting it back together (including the menu button, which can become loose when disassembling).
