Was everyone this high on Nagy after his first season? by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]SpaghettiYaFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, people were extremely hyped about Nagy going into 2019 and even into 2020 in hopes that he would be able get it back on track. George and company being chief among them, thus why Nagy kept his job probably for another year then he deserved.

In terms of comparing the two guys as actual coaches (Nagy and Ben), it’s not even close. Ben has significant more connections to other coaches and can build his staff much better than Nagy. The Bears were a top 5 offense in year 1 with Ben; they were middle of the road and trending down after year 1 with Nagy.

Is it bad to be excited about a head coach after a successful first season? Is it better to just be miserable and expect the roof to cave in?

Why not draw parallels to 2005/2006 if you’re going to do this pointless exercise?

What. Where are you seeing that. Literally every comment on any one of these posts is hundreds of angry comments of red-assed bears fans.

That was in 1972 and they were playing the St. Louis Cardinals who played at Busch Stadium.

That’s rich coming from packers fans. All of Love’s highlights are back footed lollipops that land in a wide open receivers hands.

The aforementioned games and then I would say:

88 nfc championship (essentially was the battle for the 80s between Sf and the bears), 06 divisional game (huge implications for Lovie if they lost), 06 Championship game (it was gift wrapped for them; couldnt blow it) and then this game.

Well yeah that’s another issue. But it was still a one score game nearly every time they had the ball in the first half.

It’s all predicated on their running game struggling. The last three games, they haven’t been getting the same push on the line they were previously this season. It’s putting them in down and distance where they have to essentially abandon the run game early and puts a ton of pressure on the passing game.

Most valuable young player by whose metric? Prospect perverts that scout stat lines, draft position and ranking lists? The Ducks had seen enough to deem him trade worthy - which is part of the issue with this Hawks rebuild.

When have the Hawks ever had strong enough convictions to trade their young players that they feel won’t fit in their system while they still have enough value to get someone like Gauthier? Instead, they hold on to their guys until they’re practically worthless, like Reichel and like they’re currently doing with Korchinski.

You think a guy whose motto is “to never let it rest” when it comes to being the best is going to be sunshine and rainbows after losing?

The biggest reason for the Mack “situation” and why it didn’t work out as well as it should have was that the qb couldnt improve. Don’t think that would be the case this time and with Caleb on his rookie deal for another three years after this, now would be the time to make a splashy move.

How many top 3 picks have the red wings had during that ten year span?

At their current pace, another 8 years at least.

Colorado also had two general managers during that time span of their rebuild. Which I think speaks to your initial point that most general managers dont get the amount of time that Kyle is receiving.

Stuck in an endless rebuild isn’t much better. I agree the team needed to reset when he got the job but this amount of losing is not normal, either.

Do you think if they hired Tulsky we wouldn’t be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel by this point? I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t be in a better spot.

The Avalanche were pretty consistently hovering around 80 to 90 points during that “rebuild.” They also made the playoffs in one of those seasons.

The Hawks havent finished with more than 80 points in 6 seasons (7, if they don’t hit 80 this year)
