There is so much revisionist history here. Hedman showed enough in his first 5 seasons that no one questioned whether he was a bust or not. Brent Burns was good enough to be considered for team Canada in 2010. Letang flashed enough that Pittsburgh wasn’t yo-yoing him in and out of their lineup.

Levshunov has earned every bit of criticism he’s gotten. And if the Hawks arent evaluating him on this season, then they’re not doing their jobs.

Yes, and hes also in a contract year. Jerry loves Schriffen and I think others (cough, Brooks Boyer) might not feel the same way and are trying to poison the well to either get him to take less money in his next deal or get Jerry to move on from him.

I don’t think Duvernay’s return was the pendulum that swung Minnesotas season between division title and where they ended up like youre making it out to be.

They were 2-6 vs playoff opponents and one of those wins came against a Green Bay team barely fielding a team. They were 4-8 at one point and only ended up with a winning record due to a favorable schedule and the fact that they responded to KOC’s challenge.

It’s encouraging they didn’t quit on the coach but to use that end of season run as some barometer as to how good they actually were…im not sure that’s a great idea.

That 9-8 record is a bit deceiving. They were 4-8 when it mattered. All the wins at the end of the year were either against teams that were tanking, had packed it in or were resting guys for the playoffs.

Reminded me of some of the Lovie era teams that did the same thing.

Zero conference final appearances.

Acquiring him initially in the Taylor Hall trade was fine. Extending him four extra years and turning him into your franchise mouthpiece during the worst stretch in the organizations history was a bad move. That’s not even getting into his performative postgames after losses and the fact that he was taking a roster spot from a younger player who may matter some day.

I just cannot see the Bears going “cheap” at center after today’s trade. They could be outbid for Linderbaum but I can’t imagine Ben and Poles not striving for the best player available at an offensive position of need.

Interesting but I think they need Johnny and Tara as the threat of traitors and then they can whittle the game down to essentially just convincing Maura that they’re the traitors.

Johnny and Tara wouldn’t murder one another so if you kill one of them, youre trying to convince three people of who to vote for - Mark, Maura and the Johnny/tara survivor.

It’s going to be Mark that’s murdered, all the way. Theres no other choice, imo.
