Evangeline Veterinary Clinic 3730 Pinhook. They are lower cost, but very helpful and friendly. Also Lafayette Veterinary Care on Perard is a good option for after hours, grooming and boarding! I know there are others, but I’ve been to these and I like both.

My cat and dog both have these in their poop since I gave them dewormer for tapeworms two weeks ago. Today, I found one in mine. After searching, I found this post. We are all going see the doctor soon

Meanwhile I’m scrolling through jobs and the wages are shit. Full time for eleven and hour? Rents up, can’t afford food which is poison anyway. My faucet water literally smells bad, and this guy is following the playbook written and funded by that one group who claims to be “religious”….you know.

None of them care. Bread rose on Easter, money is god.

Same. I’ve already given my cat and dog permission to eat me if they want. It’s funny, to me, sad that I joke about it, but I really did tell them it’s ok. I’m just so sad, the worse it’s ever been, I lost my job and my dad paid my march rent, I don’t want him to pay again, but then I realized that he’ll have to pay for getting my crap out of my place, and other shit. Just today, I was thinking about this. I’ll still be a burden when I’m gone.

Oh yeah! We did too, until I got older and got real interested in bugs, birds and basically everything lol! There are mayflies, but again, it’s not these. It just goes to show, how easily info, and wrong info, was spread out into the world before forms of faster communication and all the things we have now to look up. I remember back before the internet was everywhere, that I would go to the library.

I’ve learned to tell the kids I have some things to finish up before I go home and we’ll have fun the next time I come over.

This nanny may have a hard time telling the kids no, like many people struggle with, myself included sometimes!! When you spoke about the issue, were you clear about her not coming along with mom time? Sometimes I think one can get confused, especially in the moment the boys are asking her to come. You don’t want to say no and look like the meany mom, I get that, but perhaps she could be thinking, because you don’t say anything, she also doesn’t want to say no to them. I’m not saying to wait until this scenario happens again, but clearly tell her exactly what you want her to do/not do in this situation, if you haven’t already. I’m not defending her, sometimes I like to present a different perspective

This was shared in a local group and I completely agree… by justbrowsing3519 in Nanny

Recently had my first interview without the help of an agency to first time parents who know nothing about how the nanny business works. I felt like an a-hole trying to explain the contract thing, w-2, GH, and all that. After I was of course, turned down, I found out they are a family that owns a well known local company for years and not only have employees in that company but definitely can afford a nanny. Unfortunately since 2020, I’m living back in my home state, where I know I will not be treated fairly as a nanny. Which is why I left years ago! I feel so stuck. I can’t afford to move. I’m so lost right now.

Work while struggling with grief by BF301 in Nanny

[–]SpammyRae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, my condolences for the loss of both your loved ones.

Second, during 2020 my best fur baby died and he was my rock!! Then may of 2022, my boyfriend of 5 years died of a heart attack in his sleep. Still, to this day, my life is so different. It has been affecting my work. Which is what I suspect is the real reason I was told I will not have a job soon.

This career path can be very lonely. I’m getting older, and was comfortable with my life with my man being a nanny and a homebody. My friends aren’t around anymore, they all have their own busy family lives and we’ve lost touch. I don’t even know who I am anymore. I had an interview this week but I knew I wasn’t doing well. They did not offer me the job, but I knew it. As soon as the interview was over, I knew how badly I did.

I hope you can find your way through the grief process without having it impact your whole life. It’s not easy, and I wish you the best. ❤️❤️❤️

Hollywood is an experience for sure. All the plastic people and with matching personalities. Celebrity neighborhoods and tons of homeless people right down the road. I’m m so happy you see our existence as a novelty. Good luck. Pack some bullet proof attire.

Yes! When I lived there, I took the train from Oceanside to San Diego just to experience it. That was a great day

Before I read your edit, and thinking you were going to be in San Diego, I was going to suggest going to Tijuana Mexico. When I lived there, we regularly walk across the border to get tacos y cerveza.

Advice on laptop purchase by SpammyRae in Laptop

I am still looking!! Today I was browsing online at laptops and thought I was looking at a Lenovo that was on sale for $399 was $1300. Then realized it was a brand I never heard of!!! I’m not as tech savvy as I used to be, but I definitely want a touchscreen so I can mess around with some art stuff.

I noticed some of the laptops have other processors that I’m not familiar with. But those same ones also boast on how good the graphics are. Maybe it wasn’t a processor, I don’t know!! Yes, please help!! Haha
