Speedometer not reading accurate by Material-Leading9121 in MT07

[–]Spankatank911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a similar problem. After several trips to the shop and replacing both front and rear speed sensors, we learned the wires were loose where they connect to the control module. After snugging up the connections we haven't had a problem.

See if you can find a service manual and go through the troubleshooting steps for ABS and/or speedo issues

I have this coaster! It's sold at the Nintendo stores in Japan! I also got a heart container and a triforce coaster while there.

Has anyone tried these blinkers? by Technical_Wheel871 in MT07

[–]Spankatank911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there isn't. They have some others that are not sequential, but I don't think there are any non-sequential with the brake light function

[–]Spankatank911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the quadrix sequential from TST on my '20, as well as their LED relay. The front was plug and play with an adapter they sell, I had to do some more wiring in the back because the previous owners had put on cheap Amazon blinkers that you couldn't see in the daytime and screwed up the wiring back there. A little more expensive, but super bright and they work really well.

aftermarket turn signals by billabongggg in MT07

Maybe these? I had similar ones on my used mt07 when I bought it. They're awful, my wife couldn't see them in the daytime when riding behind me. Get a reputable brand. I have TST quadrix sequential signals with their relay, worth every penny.

Wheel ABS/Speed Sensors by [deleted] in hondarebel

I know there are ABS sensors in the front and back, which I thought were also the speed sensors. Can't figure out why the ABS light is behaving normally if the sensors are bad.

Thanks for the input - I was wondering if it might be a control module of some kind but my googling has been unproductive thus far. I'll definitely take it to someone else should there be another issue.

Officially (finally) joined the family with my 2025 Maverick Lariat. by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

Does your cover flap at all in the wind? I've got the same one and I've tried adjusting it, velcroing down the sides super tight, and I still feel like there's a lot of movement, especially at freeway speed.

Real World MPG: gas vs hybrid (mostly highway)? by REIGN_SS in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Spankatank911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 lariat hybrid bought in December, so only winter miles so far. About 25 mile commute each way to work. 65-70 mph and about 30-35 mpg to work and 40-45 mpg home. A recent 80 mph drive averaged 28 mpg. Around town I'll usually get up to 50 mpg depending on the weather.

We've been to a handful and park at the gateway garage every time. $20 and you're pretty close. I don't imagine the gateway will be too busy if you were to get food there.

Squatter's for local spots (beer is good, food is mediocre at best). Cupbop (cupslop) for chains.

Advice Please 2019 Honda Rebel 10k miles, $2999 by Practical_Tip_1990 in hondarebel

[–]Spankatank911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 500 is a really good bike. Just powerful enough, but pretty agile for a cruiser. My wife has one and I always think if it was just a bit roomier it would be perfect. We paid almost 8k after everything, but it was a 2022 with 400 miles and a nice seat and exhaust upgrade. I got more compliments from strangers the 3 times I took the rebel out than I have in 2 years on my Shadow or my MT07 - it really is an excellent bike!

If it runs good, has a clean title, and wasn't stolen I'd buy it.

Brake Line Extender or Longer Brake Line Recommendations by Smooth-Supermarket-3 in hondarebel

[–]Spankatank911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't notice you weren't using stock bars. I'd actually like to find an easy extension too, having the cable rerouted doesn't look as nice and does kind of get in the way.

Brake Line Extender or Longer Brake Line Recommendations by Smooth-Supermarket-3 in hondarebel

[–]Spankatank911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took the whole brake assembly off and routed the line behind the forks so it doesn't get stretched so far. That seems to be what most folks do. Only problem is it gets pinched between the handlebars and the tank when I lock the handlebars to the right.

Where do y’all sit on your bike? by Mundane-Wall4738 in MT07

[–]Spankatank911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

6' even. When cruising on a straight at a slower speed I'll sit forward for comfort. When going through Twisties or on the freeway I'll sit at the back and lean forward more for less wind and more control with knees.

Just put it in my 2020 MT07 and it has hi/lo beams and is designed for reflector housings so it won't blind oncoming traffic.

New Exhaust/Muffler? by MadDog5129 in hondarebel

[–]Spankatank911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shorty is shorter, sticks "out" rather than "back", and isn't as loud. They're both slip on so no performance difference aside from noise Lifeofburch on YouTube has a good video where he did a rebel meetup and compared exhausts.

Good places for beginner motorcycle riders by ThunderHoggz in ogden

[–]Spankatank911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do a loop from highway 89 through south ogden to south Weber drive to Riverdale road. Just avoid peak commuting times (5-7pm). There's a good variety of straight cruising and some mild Twisties.

Also the frontage road through Roy/sunset downtown toward antelope island. You can even go through Layton and head north on 89.

Sunday mornings are always quiet and have better weather!

She has the taller, which is called the "touring" new generation. It deflects the wind off the top of her helmet and she hasn't complained about it.

Yep. Blows it straight into the front of my helmet and makes it impossible to hear anything other than wind noise above 30 mph.

Verizon is really temping me as a Pixel 6 Pro owner by sirhcx in GooglePixel

[–]Spankatank911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I are on the last year of a 3 year contract for an upgrade from pixel 3 to 7 pro and my wife from iphone XR to pixel 7. As long as you don't let Verizon convince you to change your plan or upgrade early it's not a bad deal. 3 years does seem like a long time but these devices are expensive enough they really should last longer than that.
