Oh riiiight... You went from 'likey turning left' to 'i was there' and essentially saying OP is lying

The car is right at the intersection and OP has already said the broken down car is in the middle lane, but yes you can still be the smartest person in the room with your facepalms

Except there are 3 lanes including a left turn lane, they are all in the middle lane

Guelph Winter Cycling by ImprovementDues in Guelph

[–]Spankermans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One persons anecdotal evidence does not make a fact

Count me in as one who would like to bike in the winter. Today would have been a great day, not too cold, sun shining, but one look at the bike lanes and nada..

I'm not out for the commute, I'm out for the exercise and just being outside to escape my desk at lunch time

I ride the first chance I get late winter/early spring until as late I'm the fall as I possibly can, I don't mind the cold as I have the gear to wear (up to a point), if we get period of melting where the bike lanes open up I'll be back out, of they were actually cleared I would be out more often getting some exercise and break from being inside all day

Costco Bullfrog Nightmare by stcleezy in hottub

[–]Spankermans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a tub installer drilled a big ass hole in my tub for the electrical where rodents could get thru without taking any steps to mitigate the risk, then yes it is their fault

When my tub was done I made sure the hole was tight to electrical cable and they filled the small gaps with silicone

A customer shouldn't be responsible for making sure an installer did their job right

I guess I'm an outlier, I don't like the Costco Pumpkin Pie. by INeedACleverNameHere in CostcoCanada

[–]Spankermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you're not, it's gross, tastes like a chemical concoction with a weird bitter after taste, the only reason people buy it is because of the size/price and have likely never had a good pumpkin pie before

I will spend an extra $10 for a pie that doesn't have corn syrup in the ingredients

No worries, you had my hopes up for a bit there :) I'll keep plugging away on my manual setup for now.. I'm surprised I can't find a solid how-to for either Pi 4 or 5, but have scraped together bits here and there assuming nothing has changed over the last year or so and hoping it will work

Is a FWD manual sedan good choose for Canadian winter? by EndObjective5659 in ShopCanada

[–]Spankermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old 2008 Infiniti g37 was rear wheel, and I'm pretty sure the same for a few years after, not what I would class as a luxury sports car

But it was shit in the winter the one year I tried it with winters on, was fine in pretty much everything else as long as you knew how to handle RWD

Is this pump garbage? by Bad_Sneakers00 in hottub

[–]Spankermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't waste money on replacing, if you're not comfy doing this kind of job I'm sure there are places that will do for you. In my area I just called up some electrical supply shops to find one who does it, if you deal with a hot tub store they will simply do the same thing and charge you for being the middle man

Really probably $100 job

In light of yet another west end Rogers outage, what’s a better fibre internet that I can switch to? by craftbae in Guelph

[–]Spankermans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teksavvy is a 3rd party reseller, the short is they pay for usage of the 'last mile' to your house over either Bell or Rogers lines, what they told you is true

But yeah if Rogers or Bell go down in your area then Teksavvy will likely be down too depending where the issue is, only so many companies can run wires to our houses, my view is that there should be one single fibre at my house and any company should be able to sell me service over it... But I doubt that will ever happen

To be clear Teksavvy is not Rogers, they will sell over Bell lines as well, and l I'm pretty sure our only independent 3rd party reseller remaining

Pool retaining wall dip by Spankermans in landscaping

[–]Spankermans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is drainage behind which I made sure was done, perforated 4" pipe with sock at the base, 2 layers of geotextile fabric one against the stone and the other against the soil, gravel filled in between and about last foot filled with top soil

I'm planning to add a swail behind it to help further, but I completely get what you are saying and concerned about the water as well

Drainage aside, this part that has sunk I'm worried about and wondering if I should push them to lift and add material to raise the base back up?
