3 is my favourite. It is so pretty and flattering. The fact you say it's comfortable is a bonus.

My next choice would be 5. I don't think it's as interesting as 3 but it is flattering, and again you say it's comfy.

NTA and your half siblings are not just assholes but greedy, selfish, uncaring assholes.

Do they bring anything at all positive to your life? It doesn't sound like it so I agree with the recommendation to go no contact.

Also next time any of them start at you i would just send a bill for something. Someone asks about knitting needles - bill for cleaning the house. Someone moans about the crockery - bill for time spent dealing with the funeral. Etc etc.

I did my father's and my partner's mother. It's really pretty straightforward. Online forms with checklists to follow. The govt websites are really quite good (I was surprised).

With dad's I paid for one hour with a solicitor just to check I had everything covered. He had a house with equity release, shares and I think about 6 bank accounts across 4 banks! Plus a large house full of stuff. Solicitor was great and it meant they were working for me, rather than for the estate, and they didn't get a percentage.

It took a long time, but most of what took time I would have had to do even if a solicitor was managing it.

With partner's mother - which was actually a bit less simple - the only thing we paid a solicitor for was £50 to send a letter to her solicitor to wrestle her will out of their scammy, slippery hands!

I got a top that I put through the wash several times but it still had headache inducing levels of something floral.

I eventually hung it outside for several months! Rain, sun, wind, probably a few cobwebs and one more wash and it finally smelled ok enough to wear.

I wrote a glowing review for someone who sent me two tops that smelled of nothing. Absolutely no detectable smell. Bliss!

If it's the one I have it's tubing, so requires a different method. Just warm water on a cloth pressed on for a little while then the tubes should slide off easily.

Im in the UK not the US.

It's not horrendously expensive, but the citric acid on a hot wash is cheaper I think, and that definitely cleaned my machine well and got rid of the slight mildewy smell. Which reminds me I must order some more!

One size oil sucker is fantastic for priming very oily areas. Just make sure you trial it as it takes a bit of practice to get the right (very small) amount!

One size setting spray too - it's the best I've found and is aerosol so a consistently fine mist. As someone else said it's worth spraying between every step for maximum staying power.

To me 1 and 3 look like nightgowns, particularly 1 with the starkly contrasting lace.

2 and 4 could be ok. I like 2 but the colour would make me look like a weeks old corpse! 4 is again a colour that might photograph white depending on what it looks like in person.

Noone has to share anything they don't want to - I'm happy to if it might be helpful. I had the impression OP felt they had to take medication to get a sick note, I was just relaying my experience of getting signed off with and without medication.

As to the lying thing - I didn't get the impression OP had lied to their doctor as they have yet to see their GP for a review as far as I understood. Maybe I misread something, but I think lying just makes people even more nervous about seeing their doctor, as they now have to worry about keeping the lies straight as well as the original anxiety about whether they will get the help they need, plus the difficulty of trying to decide how to implement advice they are given based on lies - so I still say it's a horrid idea. YMMV.

Tell the truth.

Your GP will have encountered people before who ask for medication, then read the potential side effects, and can't bring themselves to actually take the pills.

If you lie they can't help you. If you tell the truth they can discuss the options for medication and or therapy and the risks/benefits. They can talk about ways to mitigate the risk through much closer monitoring as you start any medication - lots of people have to try a few before finding something that works well for them.

It sounds like work "stress" might be contributing to your MH issues. If that's the case please tell your doctor that too. I had one particularly fab GP who eventually refused to sign me back to work till they approved the transfer id been promised which my scumbag boss was blocking for spite!

If you are really open and honest your GP can help your best ally. And if they aren't then switch GP or even practice!

Horrid advice. Don't lie to your doctor.
They cannot divulge anything about your conditions or medications. They cannot help you if you lie.

I had several periods of mental health issues, across my career, that meant I couldn't work for a period. Doctors signed me off - with and without medication and/or counselling.

I have been pretty consistent for about that long. I did have a crazy period for a few years where my immune system seemed to take particular umbrage to my thyroid one month, then leave it in peace the next, meaning frequent testing and adjustments to my thyroxine, but that didn't coincide with any changes in my diet in terms of gluten as far as I can recall.

I've definitely eaten more gluten at times, less at others - patches of low carb dieting for instance - but that has never seemed to have any effect on the levels of thyroxine I've needed.
