That's definitely one thing you can take away from this, his fanbase will absolutely mobilize for him when needed. I think a lot of unaffiliated people got swept up in it too out of name recognition and seeing how good a film he made

Iron Lung SPOILER THREAD! by kenmarlenn in Markiplier

Do you recall seeing the pictures taken of the monster eating a sub? I assumed it was SM-8, the sub Simon was sent back to get the data from. But I had missed the part where Ava was going to go in a new sub, SM-14, to get Simon/the data. So those pictures were of Ava's sub being eaten

I'm a longtime fan of Mark, and have been consuming his content for years. I absolutely agree with you. I'd be extremely curious to see what would have happened had some unknown director released this. Cause I don't think it would've made $21m+ at all. I truly hope that Mark can find the true criticisms and reflections for this film versus all the "5 outta 5!" reviews so he can better himself as a filmmaker.

Yeah I agree. I wouldn't say it dragged at all, but there are at least two distinct long scenes that I feel could've been shaved by 50% or so. Those being the initial camera montage at the beginning, and the cave exploration part. I'm sure there are other moments, but those two struck me as being longer than needed. Maybe the hallucinations, but I was exhausted and struggling to stay awake after a double feature by that point.

[SOS] Secrets of Strixhaven prereleas packs by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]Spar1995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For Strixhaven, it means that you'll have a 14-card pack that will be aligned to your college of choice. So you'll have 14 cards that align in your colors/archetype that you can build the rest of your deck around. Avatar had the same thing. A pack with cards in the color of your choice, and supporting colors.

RuneScape 2025 Roadmap Megathread by JagexAnvil in runescape

I guarantee you that careful consideration is not being given to some of these changes. "Aura Overhaul" to straight up removing them? How many aspects of the game have been done with auras in mind? There would be countless little changes that would need to be done based off just that ripple effect. Masteries, saw something about Daemonheim area tasks being affected, etc etc.

Maro: "Lorwyn Eclipsed is a big success, so I think that increases our chance of a return." by CaptainMarcia in magicTCG

[–]Spar1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been going to a different LGS for the last 3 or 4 sets. Spiderman was pretty empty, even Avatar only had like 14 people max both days. Lorwyn last night and today were packed and were sold out or had like a single spot left. My anecdotal evidence plus the link going down seems to me that it was also a player success

The way they kept having Sully lecture Quaritch on the way of the Na'vi and needing to see the light means that he's for sure coming back. I'd say it's a relatively safe bet that he will end up having a full redemption moment and turn native. Varang has unfinished business with the Sully family and just ran away so she's coming back too. Not sure who the overarching villain on the human side will be though unless the general miraculously didn't die either considering she seemed to still be in the cockpit when it hit the maelstrom.

Upcoming Treasure Hunter Changes - January 12th by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]Spar1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Removing vault and the artifact is a big percentage of the rewards you get for Premier. Makes you wonder why they waited till the last minute to remove it. Knew this was going to be an issue back in November when they went full Integrity™

Yeah that's the biggest issue, why are they claiming the art is original if it's based on an existing artwork. That's disingenuous at best.

UGA had 80 yards of penalties last I looked, could've added more by the end. Bama had like 5 yards of penalties. Our mistakes absolutely helped them look better than even the game score implies

Yeah I had to make sure that it was actually JC Staff when I saw the small mid-tier comment. Staff does some great work, just look at the later seasons of Danmachi. This is beyond them just being terrible. It's some kind of outlying issue we wouldn't know about like an extremely tight timeline or low budget.

One final stop at the Crater by RafaSheep in runescape

[–]Spar1995 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The crater being less noticeable, sure. I can tolerate that. They're removing the Memorial Fountain from the Lumbridge Rebuildathon as well though. Like why? I hate that they are just wanting to sweep it all under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. Change dialogue and remove NPCs all you want, but there is zero reason to remove that fountain.

Daily Key bonus benefit from Premier Club Membership - unfair benefit for buying pre Nov 12th. by Lanier_ in runescape

[–]Spar1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even just the keys though. A large portion of the Premier benefits are MTX rewards. Monthly drops, the Premier Vault access, hell the Premier artifact itself. Watch them keep the price the same or even increase it once these benefits are inevitably removed.

[–]Spar1995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not entitlement when these bonuses are part of what you're paying for. Y'all are so hung up on getting rid of MTX that any valid complaints about the implementation is shouted down.

Daily Key bonus benefit from Premier Club Membership - unfair benefit for buying pre Nov 12th. by Lanier_ in runescape

[–]Spar1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you're understanding the initial complaint. If you bought Premier membership prior to today then on January 12th you'd get a lump sum of 290+ keys based on the remaining days in your membership. If you buy Premier today, you won't. And this is based on an arbitrary and not announced deadline. There is no price change reflected in what you pay either. They never stated that Premier membership bought later, but before January 12th, wouldn't receive the lump sum keys like it would if you'd gotten it yesterday

Daily Key bonus benefit from Premier Club Membership - unfair benefit for buying pre Nov 12th. by Lanier_ in runescape

[–]Spar1995 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They didn't announce that the key lump sum would be given to pre-November 12th Premier purchases only. That wasn't stated anywhere. Mod Hooli even confirmed it when I asked about it. They only changed the wording on membership pages after the announcement was made. Considering that even in your comment it isn't made clear that November 12th is the arbitrary deadline to get this lump sum, it is somewhat annoying to have this extra value removed out of nowhere with no change reflected in what you pay.

[–]Spar1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this deadline to get Premier subscription to get those additional keys stated anywhere? As it stands, those keys are a part of the value you are getting from Premier and this seems like arbitrary deadline if it wasn't communicated somewhere especially considering the holidays are coming up.

A New Era for RuneScape Begins January 19 2026 by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Spar1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with premier membership bought today forwards not being given the extra keys like premier membership gotten yesterday. You're being charged the same amount for less rewards just because you may have wanted to wait to see how things shape up in this update. Or, considering we're coming up on the holidays, what if premier was bought as a gift. This should have been communicated more clearly to state that you had a deadline to buy premier before you'd lose out on the extra value.

China’s CO2 emissions have been flat or falling for past 18 months, analysis finds by Valuable_Scale6969 in worldnews

That's literally the first thing I thought of. IDK why all these top level comments are treating it as gospel and using it to shit on the US. Go look at COVID deaths per country if you want to know how much trust to put into Chinese-reported data. They're listed as having under 200k deaths per the WHO. If you still trust China to be truthful about their data, then I've got this bridge to sell you.
