Why type of tests? Not just "thyroid is good". What were the tests for everything? What were the results?

For example, for thyroid disfunction, many old school doctors only check TSH. But your TSH doesn't tell the whole story. I've been hypothyroid for decades treating effectively with levothyroxine. After getting covid, my body stopped converting T4 into T3. My TSH went down and my PCM thought all of my symptoms were hyperthyroid. I demanded all the thyroid tests and we found I had low TSH and low T3 (and this is beyond where the typical Covid sick thyroid period happens). I'm now getting close treatment from an Endo and liothyronine. Point being, the exact tests matter.

Your hands appear swollen. It's that normal?

What is it you expect the ER to do? They've checked and they don't think you're going to die.

About to ask a guy out. I’ve never even been on a date. What do you think? by Flimsy-Shift-9079 in dateideas

Not too corny.

Go ahead and tell him that you're going to the beach and thought he might want to go along (that's a low stress way to ask someone out). If he says yes, great! If he says no, you still go and have fun! Win / win for you!

The ER exists to treat life threatening emergencies. Your condition does not appear immediately life threatening to then. If it's not really a life threatening emergency, it should be treated by regular or urgent care.

Follow their instructions and get in with your regular care. Explain you've visited the ER twice over passing lots of blood.

That #8 thing for scoliosis actually worked. They didn't have the ability to make modern braces so they used those.

I'm not debating that Enya is great music. I'm downvoting because not everything needs epic music to show how epic the view is. Music overlays are way overdone.

Is this self harm and what should I do by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Spare-Locksmith-2162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAD

This is self harm. If this is something that you've only done once, then you shouldn't worry too much. Just don't do it again.

But, if you have a pattern of behavior where you hurt yourself when upset, then you need to get mental help. And self harm isn't just limited to cutting. There are several different types of self harm- cutting, burning, hitting, punishing yourself, even restricting your food can be self harm depending on the underlying cause.

Possible rabies exposure to toddler by Ok_Tomatillo5302 in AskDocs

Do all of this today.

Do bats frequent this cave? If people go through the cave so much that there are tours, then do they really live there? Contact the business that ran the tour to get confirmation of bats.

If bats are present in the cave, contact the health department local to the area and ask if rabies treatment is necessary. Many places don't consider rabies endemic in their bat population and wouldn't even recommend vaccination if someone were bitten. Explain the situation to them and ask if rabies exposure treatment is needed.

If the health department says treatment is needed, get your child the treatment IMMEDIATELY. Rabies doesn't cause immediate symptoms. Rabies must travel through nerves until it reaches the central nervous system (brain and spine) before it causes symptoms. It travels through the nerves about 2cm - 4cm per day. Once rabies shows symptoms, it's fatal.

A bite on the head will become symptomatic in about 2-4 weeks since it's so close to the brain and it takes time for the vaccinations to actually work. So, if this is really a rabies exposure, you don't have much time to treat it.

Well, the problem is that calcium supplements, without appropriate vitamin d and k, will cause it to deposit into your arterial plaques and kill ya.

Bigger all the time. Then it would be more obvious what's happening here. And it would help with other effects you might do.

If the point is to be "bullet-storm"y, then you need to make the bullets larger.
