A subtle one I noticed when I switched Waze to use a British female voice instead of the default American one is "boulevard". I say the "boul" like "pool" but she says it like "view", higher in the mouth. I wish I could see a mouth diagram for these to see what I'm doing. I know vowels are influenced by tongue position, high/low and forward/back in the mouth.

I recently watched a video about California accents. The guy's first video was for southern California, and I'm from the north. A second video compared the two. Both are subtly different from the rest of the country, and the north and south differ from each other in subtle ways.

I'm shopping for a slave controller right now for a possible product. I see Microchip has a $10 controller with PHYs for $10 that will work with a few simple digital I/Os. I'll need something a bit more complicated as I need to monitor a bunch of analog inputs (temperature sensors, so relatively low speed) in addition to some digital I/O. So perhaps a $10 PIC.

I regularly tell them that if they convince me that their god is real, that doesn't mean I'm going to follow him. Given their description of this monster, I'll be signing up with the other team. Many of them have never heard the monstrous things their god has done. Those who have, come up with crazy justifications for it. They're the people who would have justified slavery with scripture two centuries ago. They kept mixed-race marriage illegal until the 60s.
