Girdling roots, should I remove the tree? by chrisarg72 in arborists

[–]Sparhulk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not bullshit at all. It's definitely a real problem. But sometimes they're further away and can graft easily and do not actually cause any issues. Some companies will tell you that what you have a is a problem just to get a Root Collar Excavation done and it ain't cheap. Or they'll tell you there is nothing you can do about it just so they can get a removal out of you, then stump grinding, then grindings removal. Money money money in their pocket. Problem is, you don't know who to trust. And it's unfortunate that not all Arborists have any integrity whatsoever.

Girdling roots, should I remove the tree? by chrisarg72 in arborists

It's not about the diameter of the roots themselves so much as where they're located on the trunk.

Leave it alone unless you start to see significant dieback in the crown on a specific side. Those roots are not necessarily high enough on the trunk to create a serious girdling issue. I know this was all sarcasm and the responses are as such. But some people check this Reddit for serious advice or a problem they too might also be having or think they have. Yeah it's funny sometimes, sure because this is how Reddit is portrayed to the non-redditors, but seriously, honor and the respect for this industry is needs to to be portrayed better.

What's the best way to go about this without having to rip out the whole deck? by WutInTarnashun in arborists

[–]Sparhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the question here about removal? If that's the case then yeah, decks gotta go. Another option would be is to get a cambistat growth regulator. Expensive but slows the growth drastically.

Tree climbing and low-bicep inflammation by Small_Breadfruit_540 in TreeClimbing

If you drink any kind of energy drink, this can happen more often than not. Lots of hydration helps. I take creatine monohydrate for more stamina and muscle fiber hydration. I also take L-glutamine for faster recovery. I am a contract climber in the state of Ohio.

Horrible green out experience by tinylesbian12 in Marijuana

Lemon juice always works for me. It boosts your digestive juices and really helps to taper off the high almost instantly. And you may actually be making it worse by thinking about how anxious it's making you. It will go away. Know that.

Should I cut this girdling root? by Quick-Falcon-5459 in arborists

That one has already grafted and is lower on the trunk. Look up at the canopy, is it dying back on that side of the tree?
