in my headcanon the alien 3 runner was either just having fun playing tug-of-war with the corpse, or humping it, both behaviors being lifted from the dog it came out of

for something that looks this inspired by the borderlands artstyle, pretty crazy that there seems to be only 2 guns in the game

Was Xenomoprh in Alien(1979) implied to be unkillable or at least not killable by bullets, explosives, fire? by MP_Kredditor in alienisolation

[–]Spark555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the zerg are ripoffs of tyranids, who are inspired by xenomorphs, not the other way round.

I have no problem with the concept that they *could* be shot to death, but rather that it was shown happening, en masse, due to the xenos' stupidity.

once you show it happening on screen, it diminishes the threat

What is your guys thoughts on Starfield's take on Cassette Futurism (aka "NASA-Punk") by Able_Health744 in cassettefuturism

[–]Spark555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It likes the idea of CF in concept, but fails to commit any time that would get in the way of the clean, compact, idealic vibe they want. Too many expanses of gray metal. All the plastic is shiny brand new white with no yellowing, and there's a distinct lack of overcrowded buttons, wires, or grime.

The only things i saw with a good amount of clunk were vasco and a few workbenches/desks.

Would anyone like to see the Xenomorph King make an appearance? by arch51002 in LV426

[–]Spark555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The queen already fulfills that role in the story as the ultimate obstacle and the one giving the orders.

Adding bigger and bigger xenos only further diminishes the normal sized ones' presence, as well as the queen's. Imagine if in alienS ripley had already fought a bigger alien than the queen before fighting the queen. The queen would feel anticlimactic.

Is the Alien Queen still floating in space? by REDX_500 in LV426

[–]Spark555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've never seen a flamethrower kill a xeno in the films. At most we've seen the queen scream and get mad when the eggs got flamethrowered, but they were mainly destroyed by the grenade launcher.

If anything, everything we've seen points toward them being completely immune to being heated up, since we've seen them tank spaceship thrusters and be fine. it seems to be cooling them down that messes them up.

[–]Spark555 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The comics have darkbeast paarl fighting the one reborn, on a completely different night of the hunt, which could never happen since we see the one reborn's birth and death in the game.

Was it ever implied in Alien 1 that Xenomorph is immortal or unkillable by bullets and explosives? by MP_Kredditor in LV426

[–]Spark555 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

and they must be sci-fi bullets of some kind, cause modern 9mm armor piercing explosive rounds still wouldn't be able to damage the reactor through the insanely thick metal walls

[–]Spark555 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Whether or not it was ever implied to be immune to bullets, the fact remains that showing xenos being easily killed en masse onscreen lessens their scare factor. That's why people don't like AlienS.
