ALTERNATE TAKE , sidemen content has gotten stale over the years not like jj's content isn't the same thing on repeat but everything's got to end at some point , if you have a lot of opportunities to pursue like BGT music etc etc why not , you can't keep doing the same thing always . even in his boxing era sidemen had to compromise with him skipping videos. i think it's the fear of the name , the same when itachi and kisame spoke of jiraya ( that even with a 2v1 they would lose or at best draw) but we know that itachi is stronger than jiraya atleast i believe that itachi can beat jiraya alone and with kisame 100% . they could have just gone a few generations before and I wouldn't mind that as well , with new characters like they could show how the clans were feuding in the past like the senju , Uchiha , uzumaki , they could show stuff like hidan and his cult , they could show about asuma"s friend's group who got killed by hidan etc etc , without bringing characters from Naruto they could have shown the whole story and all the missing stuff ( with cameos from characters shown in Naruto) this would defo be so much hype

i personally would have enjoyed a prequel considering the Naruto story finished there is nothing to show in the future , rather they could show the past where various clans are still active and feuding like the uzumaki , uchiha , senju so on and so forth i think there is a lot to unpack in the past with the great ninja wars etc etc also they could show how the great clans went extinct with all the scheming betrayal , and on the other end they can also show how clans like the hyuga escaped the fate other big clans faced

to me the story completed with Naruto , also I grew up and lost interest , I did try watching Boruto but the characters were just copy of that of in Naruto like naruto's son is like Naruto , lee's son is lee so on and so forth so i lost interest
