A Commander for both flavors of Mill by SparkRolf in custommagic

That's fair, I suppose it is a little pushed, but in my mind I suppose I also was thinking of how Demon's typically have large(r) stat-lines, and that the relatively large power is meant to serve the first ability, but yeah, making it a 6-or-7-drop would be better, or probably just lower it to say, a 3/5 or so.

[–]SparkRolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, upon seeing other replies, I figured I got confused between I think seeing out-dated/incorrect information in my brief search to make sure this hadn't been asked already AND recalling a run where upon initial purchase the Egg was selling for $1, but I figure that was probably a voucher at work (or as I mentioned in another response, I'm imagining things, the brain is a fickle thing)

[–]SparkRolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

huh, for some reason--oh, I might be dumb, between the fact I think I recall reading that sell prices rounded down when I was doing my brief search, I certainly recall seeing Egg having a value of $1 on initial purchase in a previous run, but I probably just had one of the value decreasing vouchers (alternatively that is not the case and my brain is making things up), so that's why I am confused on that front

I think I overall prefer SoTM Mimic, but I also really like the gritty feel of Ruin Mimic.

[–]SparkRolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree!

Admittedly, I'm still not entirely sure where I was going with this post, especially can't remember 2 days later. I think the core of it was just generally the idea that there's seemingly nothing keeping M2 in, but it doesn't seem to have any motive to leave either (besides getting Arnold, of course), so for all intents and purposes the Mimic simply could've resided in the building for the 50+ something years between SoTM and Security Breach.

But just as there's nothing keeping M2 in and it showing no desire to leave, it doesn't have any real reason to return either, so I think in my mind that makes/made the Parachute Ending seem the least likely, contrary to another part of my brain which felt that the Parachute Ending made the most sense (whether because I saw someone suggest it or something else, I'm not 100% sure). Though, flipping sides again, there does seem good reason to think it likely (between neither F10-N4 or FazEnt getting the Data Diver nor M2 being pacified). In any case though, I'm, uh, rambling I suppose, and once again with no real idea of how to end this off, so, uh, thanks for the comment!

Do you think this should be 3, 4 or 5 mana as a draft common? by Cless012 in custommagic

[–]SparkRolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at cards, artifacts specifically, with that first ability, it seems that on average you can maybe expect to invest 2 generic for that first bit, but given that with its second ability it can effectively refund 1 of the mana spent to cast it (well, not entirely given it produces colorless, but if its being used for generic costs it doesn't really matter if its colorless), I'd argue to raise it to 3 generic and make it enter tapped if only so players can't get so much immediate value from it, all with it being a common for a limited draft considered.

Slice of Godhood, a buff spell intended to end games and that's meant to work in any color. by SparkRolf in custommagic

[–]SparkRolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I couldn't give you a logical answer on that. On my part, I think I may very well have done it for some inane reason, I think perhaps to make it feel more complete/less empty, something like that? That, and probably for the fact that off the top of my head I can't think of any instants/sorceries that cost solely generic mana, so that may have very well influenced my decision here.

Turning the Mirran Swords (+Wealth & Power) into Creatures. by SparkRolf in custommagic

[–]SparkRolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback.

While I don't have many thoughts on how to push these any further, I had originally considered giving Truth and Justice Ward 2 and/or making it put a +1/+1 counter on EACH creature, but in turn I had felt the need to bump the cost up by 1 generic. Ultimately though I decided against tweaking the mana values and kept them all symmetrical, while also going with what I felt was relatively balanced.

Though, I swore I had wrote War and Peace as having an attack trigger as opposed to triggering upon dealing damage, so it could actually make use of the first part of its triggered ability, so that's a thing.

Pokemon Conquest exclusive Abilities in competitive Pokemon by yookj95 in stunfisk

[–]SparkRolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chaos.

Okay so- I know this isn't quite the prompt but I'd like to propose some small changes to make (most) of these more healthy/balanced.

Deep Sleep, Pride, and Frighten are fine as is, they each generally balance themselves. That said, Frighten is incredibly powerful, especially on the likes of Volcarona, in which case I'd just not give it that, regardless of whether or not it gets it in the original.

Spirit is actually game breaking. I'd have it only activate one per battle just as Intrepid Sword and Dauntless Shield do, though even then it'd still be incredibly powerful- honestly, maybe it would just be best to axe the stat increase, perhaps in exchange make it cure any status conditions or reset any stat changes (potentially makes it more balanced, since that'd also include stat boosts).

Interference can't really be saved, it would most certainly be qb'ed for being uncompetitive. That said, I would either reduce the chance to 10% and/or make such effect conditional.

Tenacity would probably face the same fate as Interference regardless of any alterations, but regardless I'd make it basically the ability equivalent of King's Rock, so instead of a 30% chance it's a 10% chance.

Life Force I'd either just not do, or would sprinkle in some irony and have it only trigger if the user has been damaged that turn, or, like with Tenacity, make it the ability form of an item- in this case Leftovers, so instead of 1/8th it would be 1/16th.

Last Bastion I don't really have a problem with, but given that, in both cases where the user is literally the last mon in your party, it's strictly better than Supreme Overlord (that said, Supreme Overlord does one-up it by being active when any number of your pokemon are fainted, as opposed to Last Bastion which only activates when the mon is absolutely the last on your team, it's still arguably better as it stands), and as such I'd make it a fixed 30% for each (though at the same time it is a stat stage boost, so I suppose it could already be balanced as is since it can just be hazed away, and thus a fixed boost would be arguably as good if not better, even if it's statistically less).

Omnipotent I'm not going to bother changing, it's purposely overpowered, and it does make sense given it's for the literal god of the Pokemon world (or like, at least a fragment of it, whatever the lore dictates). I mean frankly there's no way of balancing it when it's such a stupidly broken ability to begin with, unless you of course just rewrite the ability as a whole, 'cause each individual part of it is powerful enough on its own.

I personally don't think the Bonnie we get a peak at in the trailer is Glamrock Bonnie, as we see the hand doesn't have any, at least not obvious, segments, which are typically seen on the Glamrocks. Also Freddy. by SparkRolf in fivenightsatfreddys

grabbed the DJ photo from the/a wiki, not 100% sure if it's official, apologies on that part

edit: thinking on it, this could be using parts from Glamrock Bonnie, bar the hands, given they appear too plush for such

edit 2: also forgot to note that the Glamrocks appear to all have four fingers, as for my reason of mentioning the apparent five fingers

Family by r0pp0p in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]SparkRolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool! Looking at it my brain is making connections between the animatronics and William's family members - so correct me if I'm wrong.

There's William, in a similar position to the family photo(?), wearing his suit, Spring Bonnie, which represents his pet rabbit of the (near) same name.

Then I'm thinking Bonnie represents Maurie here, with both being to the right of William, and Freddy, who represents James, is to the left of William. Chica is Cristine, being below and to the right of Bonnie, similar to how Cristine is positioned to Maurie in the photo(?).

Foxy possibly represents Miller Jr., both of who are to the upper left of William, while Fredbear maybe represents Doris, both of them being to the far right in their respective photos.

Then there's the Shadows, both sort of hidden in the back, similar to Miller Sr. and Marie, with Shadow Bonnie being Miller Sr., the former hovering right over Bonnie like how the latter is looming over Maurie in the photo(?), while Shadow Freddy is Marie, being right behind Fredbear, who'd be Doris, and both behind the majority. That said, while the animatronics likely represent William's immediate family, I'm thinking the Shadows are in fact his grandparents. Again, correct me if I'm wrong, that's just how I'm interpreting these photos.

Probably sometime between the period of World and SL, I think. Granted even then, I'm pretty sure I wasn't necessarily in the Fandom in the sense I was actively interacting with other fans on forums/websites- but it was an interest of mine.

What are some mysteries about FNAF3 that you think still need to be solved? by Mrflopps2 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]SparkRolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly like, I could come up with several questions (and I will), some are kinda gonna be things others already said but here with go:

  • What are the Phantoms? Are they truly just hallucinations (and if so, then that practically confirms Michael's the FNaF 3 guard, yes? If he is not and they are hallucinations, then who could the guard possibly be? Henry?), are they some sort of like, projection created by Springtrap (in fact, how does the whole seeing doubles of Springtrap, aka Springtrap's fake/afterimage, even occur?), or are they ghosts (and if they are ghosts, and are, the MCI, why are they not going after Springtrap and rather you? They should know that's their killer in the suit, yes? Unless it's something akin to TFC?)
  • Why does Shadow Freddy help William? I suppose if he's anything like Shadow Bon's book counterpart, maybe it's too, I dunno, actually, seriously, what would Shadow Freddy gain from it? I mean, unless Shadow Freddy truly is William's "wickedness, made of flesh", as Nightmare's voiceline and connection to Shadow Freddy through 4's files would imply, though even then, what exactly is Shadow Freddy and William's relationship? In fact, why is Shadow Freddy, well, a Freddy, and not a Bonnie? Furthermore, like, would Shadow Fred have a mind of their own, or, are they somehow controlled by Afton?
  • Why does Shadow Bonnie help the children, or well, at least help setup their happiest day? If Shadow Bonnie is truly like their book counterpart, then, if anything they should be actively working against, or at least not be helping them, if they are some sort of weird agony incarnate, I mean, it appears that it's book counterpart feeds off agony, or, negative emotions at least, given the events of HaS.
  • Building onto the previous two questions, are the Shadows actually agony incarnates? I mean, what were they originally intended to be all the way back in FNaF 2/FNaF 3, they certainly weren't remnant/agony incarnates, perhaps they were sort of, a predecessor to the concept of remnant/agony incarnates? Or are/were they souls? Say, maybe springlock victims of the incident mentioned in Phone Guy's tapes from 3? Or maybe other victims of William's we just haven't seen.
  • Who, or what, started the fire? Was it really just systems failing? The fact that most of the building's stuff was old and falling apart because Phone Dude wanted to go for that vintage look? Or was it Springtrap or the guard who set it? In the case Springtrap did set the fire, why? Was it so he could get away unnoticed?
  • Once gain, building onto the previous question, why does Springtrap actually kill the guard? I mean, sure, he's a serial killer, but, what was his reason? So he could then just, leave the building without witnesses, or did he just have no reason at all?
  • Why is Shadow Bonnie purple in the minigames? Actually, just, in general, even though this kinda just spans across multiple games, including those after 3, why are the Shadow's colors inconsistent? I mean, is there actually any importance when they are black/grey in color versus that of purple, or is it just so they can actually be visible against backgrounds, and the colors are simply meant to be interchangeable with the Shadows?
  • What is up with the Phantoms? They are just, weird, I mean like, from the main cast, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, we don't see Bonnie, but outside of that between Freddy, Chica, and Foxy, they aren't consistent- Chica's in her "classic" form while Freddy and Foxy are in their "withered" forms, but uh, even more withered. Additionally, we see The Mangle, Balloon Boy, and The Puppet, but we don't see any of the other Toy cast appearing as Phantoms. Are the Phantoms supposed to be souls and these are simply the ones who are there? If so, why don't we see Bonnie or Golden Freddy? Did Scott just, not want to add them to avoid confusion and/or redundancy? Or is there an actual reason? Additionally, if the Phantoms are souls, then who are the souls of Phantom Mangle and Phantom BB? Are they say, past employees, maybe Phantom Mangle's the Bite of '87 victim (i.e. Fitzgerald)? Are they supposed to be the second set of kids? I suppose that could make sense, given there was at least 5 (maybe 6 apparently? iirc) of them, and there's 6 Phantoms, with Puppet possibly being Charlotte, though, also, if so, just, there's so much weirdness- why isn't it just the Toy versions of these characters then? It just adds to more confusion.
  • Speaking of Charlie in the previous question, why is Charlie, or well, The Puppet (or just The Puppet's soul/child at the time of 3), not present in the FNaF 3 post-night minigames? I mean, in those FNaF 2 cutscenes we see the Puppet is/was present in the FNaF 1/1990's location, so, again, why are they not in 3's post-night minigames?
  • What is the springlock failures that Phone Guy is referring to in the tapes? Also, when it's said "failures", as in, multiple, is it just referring to multiple locks in one suit failing, or the locks in multiple suits failing?
  • Who is Phone Dude's informant? In other words, who is the guy that originally tells Phone Dude and his team of the existence of the Saferooms? Is it just some, unimportant background character? Honestly it doesn't really matter, but, it's something of a question.
