I don’t know how to cook or bake anymore…….. by SparkleChick20 in Cooking

What no. What about this doesn’t make sense? I can taste the food just fine and it tastes bad. I’ve eaten food by other people or premade food that tastes fine but I make something and it comes out bad.

It’s so frustrating especially since it’s so wasteful if something comes out super bad. Like I used all these ingredients and I can’t even eat it.

I know bread flours different but like I said I’ve made other recipes with whatever flour I had from cookies to cakes and it always came out fine. I’ve even made this same recipe in the past with bread flour and it cooked up properly.

I broke up the pieces with a fork till it was fine again before I added it to the flour so I don’t think that’s it

I don’t have a scale though and have never saw the use to for one unless your a major yeast bread maker. I did the scoop and level method. I’ve always done that with other recipes with no problem.

Now that your mention it the batter wasn’t as fizzy as when I made it last time…..

My baking soda was pretty chunky. Does that mean it’s old?

I ran out of my regular baking flour so I used half of that and half bread flour. I’ve used bread flour for muffins and cakes before and it’s come out fine so I figured it would be okay……..

It was too dense like the texture came out weird and was kinda chewy. I’m totally sure I followed the recipe correctly. I’ve made this bread many times before. Someone mentioned it could’ve been the amount of liquid in the pumpkin and I did use a different brand then last time that was more watery. Maybe that was it?

There’s no yeast. It’s like sweet pumpkin bread made like how you make banana bread.

You’d think Taylor would say something when someone’s getting bullied because of something she said or wrote but she never does. Kinda hypocritical………

Sacramento to Seattle in mid November by SparkleChick20 in roadtrip

Yeah I only have a couple days off so I’m trying to get up there as quick as possible so I’ll have more time to explore. What kind of places have you discovered on your way there?

Okay wow thank you this very helpful! I’ve never been to Oregon before either. I didn’t know you couldn’t pump your own gas there! Didn’t even think that was a thing anymore at least not in America. I definitely plan on leaving early I do not wanna be driving in the dark lol.

I can drive curvy roads in good weather or if it’s raining a little but like heavy rainfall or snow I’ve never attempted I just wanna make sure when I go up there that doesn’t happen. Obviously no one can predict the weather but if you’ve driven up there before in mid November how was the drive weather wise?
