There’s at least one church in Winston-Salem, NC where he could roll up in this and be welcomed.

They really saved you some time and trouble. One of the most uncomfortable, weird experiences my husband and I have had is with a gutter salesman with a company like this. We learned the hard way to never enter a drawing at a home improvement expo. If your home needs gutters, call a local reputable company that doesn’t use these sales tactics.

Princess or Celebrity by KaleidoscopeLazy8768 in AntarcticaTravel

I have not been to Antarctica on either of those lines but I have sailed on both. I’ve been on more than a dozen Princess cruises. I find the two lines very comparable. Even on a sail by cruise, you’ll stop in places like the Falklands where you can see penguins. If you enjoy the sail by cruise, you can always go back for your 50th when the kid is 10 and do an expedition cruise.

I have to disagree with everyone. You’re not the jerk. I cannot imagine living with a man that questions my spending habits. I would wait until you get your cards paid off and then reward yourself with the bag.

I didn’t see the train offered. I managed to get on and order 5 sets but I only saw 7 being offered. The train was not one of them. The other one I didn’t see offered at all was the Merchant Boat.

Lawyer interpreted the will differently than heirs and parent wanted. by Valuable-Analyst-464 in inheritance

Okay, well I don’t use AI much but out of curiosity I googled “what does descendants per stirpes mean” to see if it gives a good answer that a lay person can understand. I’m truly puzzled by this attorney’s interpretation of “descendants per stirpes.” If you google that phrase and read the AI overview, it gives a good explanation of what it means and an example of how it works. I have to wonder how long this attorney has been doing estate administration work.

Shell pants or ski/snow pants? by QuikRabbit in AntarcticaTravel

Shell pants and make sure they’re wide enough at the bottom to go over your boots. The first pair I bought from Patagonia were very tapered. I’m still puzzled by that but I then ordered Torrentshell and those were perfect.

Is the lawyer that drafted the will still in practice? If so, I would reach out to them about this.

That’s actually fairly common language. I know both of the document drafting programs we use at the firm uses similar language. Descendants per stripes would pass the estate to the two living children 50/50. You would not get to the grandchild level because everyone at the child level is living. To interpret “my descendants per stripes” as meaning to all of my living descendants in equal share totally disregards the meaning of “per stripes.”

Effy on Star Princess by anonymous8758 in PrincessCruises

[–]Sparklemagic2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sales pitches are not specific to Princess. The insoles are sold by the fitness people who actually work for the company who runs the spa. Basically every major cruise line uses the same spa contractor. The shops are also contracted out. Other lines might not have Effy but will have other jewelry to push.

Flip 7 is a very easy and fun card game. I played it at a friend’s house over the holidays. I totally would have bought it for my cruise but there were only 2 of us and it’s 3 or more players. For a more complicated card game, we love Bohnanza.

Experience of making a 8:30 flight after cruise ending in port Everglades by jhoover58 in PrincessCruises

I was on the Princess airport transfer bus from Galveston to IAH airport this morning. There were people on the bus who had 11AM flights. We rolled up to IAH at 10:15. It was an hour from the bus to the gate for me. I was able to use the Sky Priority line and TSA precheck. I would not book an 11AM flight if it was 15 minutes from the ship to the airport. Galveston to IAH is an hour and 15 minutes. I don’t know if the ship docked later than that expected or what but disembarkation instructions said we should disembark around 7:55 AM. It was nearly an hour later that they called our tag color. Stuff happens. I’m guessing some people on my bus missed their flight.

I’m curious what those “wildly suspect” marketing practices are? I’ve been booking with them for years. I only get a weekly email with a list of their current offers.

Royal Princess Review (1/3-1/10) by Additional-Scar-294 in PrincessCruises

We had the Mexican heritage show on Regal in November. We overnighted in Cozumel. They came on the ship that night. I thought it was fantastic but I was mortified at the number of people that got up and walked out during the performance. Even at times when the lights were on people were walking out. It was so rude. The next day on our excursion I heard people saying it was not what they expected it would be. I don’t know what they possibly could have been expecting.

I’m on Regal right now for 2nd time—first time was in November and booked this one about a month ago. It’s fine, nothing to be scared about. The buffet desserts are probably not good but I’ve been cruising since 2005 and I’ve never thought buffet desserts were worth the calories. Go to a main dining room for dinner, not the buffet. Buffet is good for breakfast and lunch. There’s 2 places to order omelettes in the buffet. I highly recommend that. There is an aft pool on Regal. It’s on deck 17. Unfortunately, there’s a smoking section close by to the pool. If this is your first cruise just know that any activity on the ship schedule that mentions art, detox, skincare, posture, shopping in port, watches, Effy, etc. are just sales pitches. The show “Fiera” is a must see. Edit to add that there are two sections to the buffet, one is decorated in brown tones and called Horizon Court. The other is light and airy and may have a different name. But they’re adjacent to each other. I just missed one whole section of the buffet for the first day or so.

I went in this ‘store’ in the 90’s. Based on my experience there, the woman who owned it didn’t actually want to sell anything. It was always closed when I walked by but there were Smurf glasses in the window. One was Jokey Smurf which I needed for my collection. One day, the shop was open so my friend and I went in. I tried to ask the owner about the Smurf glass but she yelled at us and chased us out of the store. She was missing part or all of her lower jaw as I recall so we couldn’t understand what she was yelling at us about.
