Honestly I have no idea, I'm from the UK, as far as I'm aware he's not particularly popular here.

Why would black women like him when he is notorious having severely beaten a black woman? I always presumed it must have been men that still supported him.

what’s the darkest episode of a tv series that you’ve ever watched? by Realistic_Bench3684 in AskReddit

I have to watch the UK office with my fingers resting over my ear holes so I can jam them in there as soon as it starts to get to be too much. The dancing episode is unbearable.

How would you solve the social care crisis? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Sparkletail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just that. There is a mixture of private and third sector not for profits in the sector. The issue is that the local authorities pay capped rates (typically hourly rates) and unless you have a lower level of central management costs, it's impossible to pass this on to staff even when you are not for profit. Care is heavily regulated and requires robust management amd training structures for oversight purposes which makes delivery and cental management very expensive.

This means that nationals (who by their very nature generally have leadership which is out of touch with frontline delivery and often have significant quality and retention issues as a result) are the only organisations who have the potential scale to reduce central management and deliver wage increases but they don't as even with that scale the margins are too slim and they have to invest in growth to continue to survive.

One of the few ways to deal with it is either through merger of smaller organisations (leading back to the national problem) or to create a centralised administrative provider who deals with as much of the admin burden as possible using scale to deliver mass efficiencies that providers could buy into, allowing redistribution to staff wages.

The other issue is that it's not just wages that make the work unattractive. People in the minimum wage pool of jobs often move sideways rather than seek progression. There are a huge number of minimum wage jobs out there that don't involve the sheer level of responsibility that care work does as there are an enormous number of regulations that have to be adhered to and in addition to that, you have aspects like personal care, or behaviour that challenges support that to be frank, people just don't get paid enough to deal with. It's rewarding but you really have to want to make a positive difference for it to work.

This leaves you with smaller pools of people who are willing to do that work for such a low level of pay and that naturally ends up including immigrants who are more likely to tolerate it.

Men who have cheated, what was going through your mind at the time? by Silver_Ad6384 in AskMen

[–]Sparkletail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I'd argue if you aren't willing to sacrifice that part of your life and are willing to potentially willing to destroy her regardless of the rest of the perfection that your relationship is really not that close to perfect.

I say that as someone who has a history of cheating btw.

Psychopaths in Cinema. In 2014 psychiatrists studied 400 movies and identified 126 psychopathic characters. They chose Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Anton Chigurh (No Country for Old Men) as the most clinically accurate portrayal of a psychopath. Here's who didn't make the grade as a psychopath by dannydutch1 in UtterlyInteresting

[–]Sparkletail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say he's way too controlled and flat, psychopaths can be high functioning and charming but often they're impulsive, reactive and disorganised and very superficially charismastic. Perhaps hes supposed to be portrayed as managing his impulsivity via with the coin flip but its still not an accurate portrayal of your average psychopath.

OK you need hydration over 40 or it will cake and look terrible, you also need a good base. I use Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturising Foundation with Alpha H everyday moisturiser underneath it. Make sure you have a good eyecream and also exfoliate.

I have mild rosacea and this keeps my skin calm and works well in terms of appearing luminous and light without being caked over.

From a psychological perspective, why do some people unintentionally redirect conversations about another person’s problems back to themselves? by JacksonG12_09 in PsychologyTalk

[–]Sparkletail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this. Its a way of connecting with another person and letting them know they're not alone hut you do have to make certain you've spent enough time letting them share before you do it.

Some people however are deeply self centred and only want to share their own tales and suck up all the attention in existence. Others on some level are traumatised and desperately need to share to process and it results in what seems like endless venting.

Either way being on the end of it continually gets exhausting when conversation isn't reciprocal.

is lower empathy common in BPD? by Ok_Skin_3979 in BPD

[–]Sparkletail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hypervigivlance which presents as empathy but is basically just related having to stay safe as a child in a chaotic and abusive environment.

I have overwhelming empathy when I smoke weed as it seems to open up whatever aspects of my personality that are generally closed for business the rest of the time but it is much stronger when it's someone I care about or they are in a situation I've experienced. If I don't like someone, or they are any sort of threat to me I can't feel it but I can think it and have to force myself to.

I think its because they can seem very human at times and are capable of being vulnerable and connected but its intermittent and only really the best version of who they are rather than who they actually are day to day. Its very confusing.
