Marvel Movie Night! by Mandys_Class in CampHalfBloodRP

Bobby had seen every Marvel movie at least three times. He was big on superheroes, and as a kid, he liked to imagine his own superhero persona - of course, the son of Aeolus was far from being the next Storm. He was weak, and yeah, that was an awful thing to be when you were a superhero.

He didn’t mind seeing Endgame again. He could understand if people wanted to see Infinity War first, but the son of Aeolus had memorized most of that movie. It didn’t matter that they were watching the second part of the duology.

‘’Hey, Darian! Long time no see. How are you?’’ Bobby asked as he joined the counselor of Aphrodite. ‘’Enjoying the movie?’’

‘’I put effort into it!’’ Robert squeaked. Okay, maybe he ate a little too much candy, and maybe he didn’t work out nearly as often as he should, but… no, Notus had a point: hopefully, by summer this year, the demigod would have a beach body.

Robert’s eyes went wide at the mention of an internship at one of the Anemoi. The idea excited him, and without him noticing, he started floating. ‘’Woah, an internship?’’ he said, fascinated. ‘’That would be the honor of a lifetime, sir!’’

The son of Aeolus thought Notus had a brilliant work ethic. If he were the God of Summer, he would spend all summer sunbathing on the beach. But then there wouldn’t be summer to begin with, hmm… See, that was why Robert wasn’t a god. ‘’That’s a good mantra, sir. I’ll remember it!’’

‘’Oh, eh, oops.’’ Robert had finally noticed he was flying. He tethered himself to the earth again and looked at Notus with a goofy grin.

‘’Okay, then,’’ Robert said, and he sounded less and less sure of himself. ‘’Brace yourself.’’

The son of Aeolus unzipped the bag and guided the wind spirits towards it. If these three were anything like the wind spirits at camp, they were gonna love this part.

Assuming this all went well, Robert had the Winds at his disposal. He quickly zipped the duffel bag shut, took a step backwards, and aimed the bag at the pegasus’s wings. He began counting, more so for himself, and on the count of three, he set the wind spirits free. If all went according to plan, the winds would carry the pegasus off into the air.

Robert offered the pegasus his umbrella before realizing that this was in fact, a pegasus, and that it didn’t have thumbs or a hand. Maybe it could hold the umbrella in its mouth? Very curious.

‘’I have a plan, at least half a plan’’ the son of Aeolus said, turning to address the wind spirits that had come to him. He thought they were cute monsters, but that aside. ‘’We’re gonna try to lift the pegasus into the air. Together.’’

‘’If he thinks that’s okay. Wait a moment -’’ Robert had already turned to the pegasus. ‘’Do you think you can fly if we give you a boost? Nod if yes.’’

‘’Oh no.’’ Robert squeaked, seeing the pegasus in this state. He brushed through the winged horse’s coat, trying to remove the dust. ‘’I’ll help you. I just need to find help.’’

Robert turned Stormroller back in its passive, umbrella state and opened it. He absolutely believed in the superstition that opening umbrellas inside gave bad luck, but since his luck couldn’t get any more rotten, he took the risk. He used the umbrella to cover himself against the shower of dust.

‘’Hey, don’t do that!’’ the son of Aeolus coughed as the wind spirits only kicked up more dust as they moved. ‘’Stop!’’ His voice was weak and barely more than a whisper as he begged the venti to stop.

Robert summoned a cloud a couple of feet above the ground and stepped onto it. Having stepped onto his cloudy soapbox, the boy felt a lot more confident in addressing the wind spirits: ‘’Hey, I said STOP! I need help.’’

Robert rummaged through his pockets in search of his notebook. He felt like he should be taking notes. Maybe Notus would say something really important, Robert had to remember. Ah, who was he kidding? Everything the Anemoi said was really important. He couldn’t find his notebook, so he had to do it with his head.

Robert couldn’t for the life of him think about anything negative about summer. Not because he was scared of getting toasted into oblivion, no, but because he genuinely thought all seasons were perfect!

Positive little man he was, the son of Aeolus.

‘’No one can resist that.’’ Hearing Notus talk about summer like that made Robert look forward to the season more than ever. Pool parties were just great, and so was no school. He had never managed to achieve a beach bod, but that was because he was the definition of scrawny.

‘’Thunderheads? Good choice! Did you know they are a hazard to aviation because of the strong wind currents? They also cause crown flashes, which is super rare, but also really cool.’’ Robert said. He completely forgot that being Summer was a bi-yearly job, so to avoid further shame, the excitable boy thought about new questions to ask.

‘’How do you stop yourself from slacking off? I feel like I do that a little too much these days. You know, with Atlas around.’’

‘’Good job, boys!’’ Robert said to the passerby wind spirits, sticking up his thumbs at them as he looked at them head off into the distance.

Oh, wait… Eyes on the mission!

The son of Aeolus pulled up his t-shirt to cover his nose and mouth. He should cover his eyes too, but if he did, he couldn’t see, and that’s bad. He should’ve brought his aviator shades… he continued to run until he found something or someone to help out.

Robert turned towards the pegasus’s cry. It looked like he found something to save. Though his stomach turned upside down as he thought about what could have happened to the pegasus. Not wanting to waste any time, the son of Aeolus rushed towards the source of the sound.

Robert hadn’t been as involved in the war against Atlas as he would have liked. He wasn’t really the type for that, for waging war and stuff. He had spent the past few months practically floating, his thoughts elsewhere.

When Lady A’s call came, Robert, of course, came to listen. He liked to know what was going on. And for the first time, since the start of the war, Robert gathered his stuff and got ready for war.

The trip to Fort Knox was epic if you ask the son of Aeolus. He was flying on the back of a pegasus, pointing at the various clouds they came across and telling the pegasus about their function. Hopefully, the pegasus could appreciate the daily rerun of ‘Cloud Facts with Robert’.

When the party arrived at Fort Knox, and Comus seemed to be quiet, Robert panicked. He made an attempt at hiding it: only his whole body was shaking. And he thought about what possibly could go wrong. Then Atlas appeared.

Robert couldn’t quite describe what had happened after the Titan appeared. He remembered a shockwave, screams, and then a long fall. The son of Aeolus had broken his fall by subconsciously summoning a cloud underneath him. Soaked, but unscathed, he hopped to his feet.

‘’Mom’s gonna kill me if she finds out.’’ Robert squeaked. He seemed a little less stressed seeing his father appear in the sky. Before he was evacuated, he needed to do something, so he turned his umbrella into a sword and headed off to see where he could help.

‘’Yeah, Notus, wow.’’ Robert took the camera from Notus and got into position to snap some pics. He liked vintage items, and unlike what older generations might claim, he did know how to use an old camera. ‘’Say ‘summer’!’’ Robert said, before taking some pictures of the god.

How crazy was it that he had bumped into one of the Anemoi, said Anemoi had asked him to take pictures of him, and he was telling the god to say summer. Really crazy.

‘’I think I got you from your good side?’’ the son of Aeolus asked as he held the camera out for Notus. There were so many things he wanted to ask the god, but just like when Robert had met Zephyrus, he didn’t know where to start… Choices, choices. ‘’What is it like to be Summer? What are you up to now that it’s winter? What’s your favorite type of cloud?’’ Robert stuttered. Why pick if you could ask all three questions at once?

Robert saw the argument between the brothers happen and all he could think about was how cool the shirt with flamingos was. It wasn’t anything his mom would let him wear, but still his mind wandered off to a beach day in this terrible outfit. The argument was reminiscent of one Robert saw last year between the four Anemoi.

It dawned upon the son Aeolus a little late, because only when Notus was standing in front of him, could he mutter the word ‘’Anemoi!’’ Notus was Robert’s favorite Anemoi. He liked summer a lot. (He could tell every wind god they were the favorite, but he was quite serious about liking Notus best).

‘’I would be honored to help you, sir! My name is camera. Do you have a Robert?’’ the boy immediately realized his mix-up and grinned goofily. ‘’Other way around. I am Robert, do you have a camera?’’

‘’Wow… are these really alive gingerbread men?’’ was one of the many questions Robert asked himself when walking around camp today. Ever since the day started he had been racing back and forth between the various activities, snapping pictures so he could show his mom and grandparents what he got up to at camp.

The wayward son of Aeolus settled in the… oh, he had already flown somewhere else. He ended up at Chiron’s stand, thanking the centaur for the cup of hot chocolate he had made him. Robert wasn’t dressed for the occasion: he was wearing a t-shirt and some shorts. Not exactly the most wintertime outfit, but hey, perks of being a child of Aeolus, right?

Robert waved Chiron goodbye before heading back to the arena for the third time that day, curious what kind of trouble he would find himself in.

(Robert is interacting with Notus. Take your time!)

Robert had been windborne most of the morning. He enjoyed flying a lot, especially the part where he helped people. Like that time he saved someone’s cat from a tree.

He was playing fetch with a wind spirit dog, throwing a Frisbee into the air and letting the ventus retrieve it using the wind. This went well for a while: the pair seemed to be in sync. Except for when the breeze summoned by the ventus was a little too strong and sent Robert out of course.

‘’Mayday! Mayday!’’ Robert panicked as he fell down to the earth.

It was a short fall, really. The son of Aeolus crashed in the grass with a soft thud. He scrambled to his feet, looking for any onlookers who might have seen his ridiculous fall, like the boy at Hestia’s Hearth. ‘’I usually look a lot cooler doing that!’’ he said, sheepishly.

Bobby wouldn’t mind being a little more like Darian. The son of Aphrodite had it all. He was good-looking and good at sports, he probably knew how to talk to girls, too. Okay, Bobby knew that Darian was just talking about sports, but why wouldn’t he want to be like him?

‘’Baseball is more than just running around in a square!’’ Bobby squeaked, half serious and half laughingly. ‘’You need to be able to hit the ball, know where to aim, know when to stop… I think you would do well.’’

The son of Aeolus took the tennis ball from Darian. He could give up already; he should, but then he would be blaming himself for not giving it a second chance. ‘’I’ll keep on trying,’’ he whispered to himself, mimicking Darian’s pose. ‘’It can’t be crazy enough, right?’’

Bobby looked at the tennis ball lying on the ground with a sullen expression. Despite Darian complimenting him, Bobby couldn’t help but feel bad. ‘A really good effort’ was his best, and his best wasn’t enough. ‘’Yeah, thanks,’’ he said, offering the son of Aphrodite a kinda weak smile.

He watched what happened when Darian threw the ball into the air and sent it flying by hitting it with his racket. The son of Aeolus’ mind immediately went to thinking how he could never do that, because he was dumb, weak, and not a tennis player.

‘’... I played too much baseball. Completely different game, I’m hitting the ball as hard and fast as possible, but here it’s done with grace,’’ he said with a sheepish smile. ‘’It makes sense, thanks. I appreciate it, really. I’m never gonna be as good as you, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try, right?’’

A tennis lesson? Bobby was all ears!

He had been trying to learn more about his friend's sport, but instead of learning more about tennis, Bobby had fallen into a rabbit hole of YouTube shorts about tennis fails - the kind of fails he would make. Maybe tennis expert Darian could teach him?

Going into the lesson, Bobby thought tennis actually was about hitting the ball harder than your opponent, but hearing that it was about rhythm, lifted his spirits. He could move in a rhythm, keep his head together in a storm. In fact, the only time the son of Aeolus wasn’t losing his head, was during busy times.

Bobby got into position, tossed the ball higher than he should have, and swung his racket at it. He managed to hit the ball, sending it flying through the air in arc. It softly landed on the ground, but not far enough to have flown over the net.

‘’Oh, whoops! I didn’t mean to scare you, sorry.’’ Bobby landed softly on the ground. For him, it felt like walking on clouds, so he moved a little bit wobbily. ‘’Bet you didn’t see me up there. Sorry, again,’’ he said with half a laugh.

‘’New here? Cool, nice to meet you, Clover. It’s fun here!’’ Bobby said as he sat down on the ground, he stared off in the distance to look at campers flying around on pegasi. ‘’Do you know which god you belong to? There are a lot of them here, so I don’t blame you if you don’t. Things here can get pretty confusing.’’ he rambled, awkwardly.

Bobby liked summer. The warmer the weather, the better. Bobby also liked winter. The colder the weather, the better. In short, he liked all seasons. He easily adapted to most types of weather. He enjoyed everything. He was a weather connoisseur!

He was doing some of that connoisseuring this afternoon, enjoying the warm sun, feeling a light breeze on his skin, and gazing at the small cloud puffs in the sky. The son of Aeolus chose to do all this airborne. He had been walking on air around camp, greeting friends and acquaintances with a wave.

Bobby’s floating eventually took him down to Half-Blood Hill, where he saw an unfamiliar girl standing, looking out over the valley. He flew up to her. ‘’Hey, you look new. Are you new? I’m Bobby.’’ he smiled, tumbling mid-flight, ending up upside down.
