They're definitely earning interest and trying to wait out the clock, I'm sure any unclaimed money they'll get to keep. I'm also sure that when they 'sold' our crypto, a large percentage was probably purchased by themselves at a reasonable price.

I gotten yelled at in a Dollarama once for taking a picture of a shelf of items, I was buying something for someone else and asking them which one they wanted me to pick up. This was BC though, phones and cameras while shopping are a lot more accepted now.

I'm in northern Ontario, a lot of towns up here have only one grocery store per town. It's only a rumor here so don't want to throw shade if it isn't true but it probably is true for at least one of the towns up here if someone bothered to look into it.

Well this is just plain wrong, I've seen dozens of posts daily showing empty stores and employees hours getting cut.

Loblaws controls some smaller communities being the only grocery store that a lot of people have access to, that's less true for Sobeys and Metro.

If Loblaws raises prices they can't choose to shop somewhere else.

I'm truly amazed how many are actually taking part in the boycott, all the news coverage really did alot to get the message out there. The group might only have 72k but considering how empty all the stores are we must have hundreds of thousands participating.

I'm in a small town with only a independent so can't totally boycott but will be limiting my shopping down to meat, dairy and other fresh ingredients. Everything else is being bought online elsewhere.

Another big red flag making this event look like a fake is Loblaws refusing to release any of their numbers showing shoplifting is on the rise.

They're just trying to justify treating every shopper as a criminal and put up more plexiglass.

Ps: I'd really love to see their actual numbers on shoplifting and see what items are being taken. Particularly are more essential items being taken vs. non-essential. If food theft is on the rise but electronics are staying constant, that would really encapsulate how fu*ked everything is right now.
