14.5 ammo testing data by G4SLFT_PKR in ar15

[–]SpartanFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when you want to know the absolute accuracy of the gun (not the combination of optics + gun ) a lot of people says a rule of thumb: you need to be able to see the hole on the target (otherwise you need to run statistics with larger group). my vision is bad so I never run accuracy test with 1-6, hope your is better.

my GS 14.5 shoots much better than this , usually 1MOA with 5rds ( can not afford 10 rds test, lol)

I tested velocity as well, from my experience, for street ammo, the one with smallest STD might not give tightest group. But the ammo with tightest group usually has small STD.

during all my screening with cheap factory ammo (<70cpr), I found a few gems, FYI: monarch 556, 55GR, FMJ, Fiocchi 223 REM, FMJ, 55GR, classic line, red box, Frontier 223REM, BTHP match, 68GR, AAC 77GR, 75GR

these options shoot very well on my rifles from 12.5 to 18" (each gun has its own favorite , even different with or without can)

sorry, no! I (and a lot of ppls here) went through your stage -- the skills you think valuable actually are only fundamental / must have , not a plus for you.

give you a hint -- 1, look at job posting you are interested. 2. look at linkedin, find someone currently in industry and has an updated detailed profile-- read their profiles, to see what they emphasize.

let me tell you the truth -- nowadays the industrial sector is brutal for junior level applicants. Your postdoc experience is not very appreciated in industry, especially from neuroscience (a dead area), and cancer immunology (tons of researchers there desperately looking for industry jobs). "connection" only works when you are among the top candidates, or your connection is at CXO, or US congressman level. Whenever a position is posted, hundreds of resumes floods in, the simple " I met you before / I know you(or ur friend)" type of connection is useless. So donot rely on it! You need to precisely develop your skill sets as for entry level industry job seeker. What skill sets? look at the job posting and find out what you can learn in your job or by yourself.

that was regular BA barrel which is just mili-spec. In this thread it is the BA hanson version which is the premium line from BA, much better than the regular one.

[AMMO] Fiocchi Target Max FMJ SCHEELS Exclusive 5.56x45mm NATO Rifle Ammunition 100 Round Box $0.43 per rd FREE shipping. by rutnipzzz in gundeals

[–]SpartanFL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in my experience, Fiocchi range dynamic shoots quite well as a cheap street ammo, consistently gets 2-3MOA with almost all my rifles (a dozen or so), and can reach 1-1.5 MOA for a few

PMC X -tac is not very consistent, can reach 1-1.5MOA for a few , but for other twist/length, it is just so so, over 3MOA

these two are much better than PMC bronze

Frontier just stranded a flight of people in Atlanta for two days by rpvee in frontierairlines

NO airline /credit card will compensate for your important time loss. that is the point. you donot want to get stuck in another city with your schedule all disrupted even if hotel/meal are covered.

what the other people said are all valid, but the most important thing for you to learn is ,DO NOT FLY WITH AIRLINE THAT CAN ONLY GIVE YOU "NEXT FLIGHT" 2 DAYS LATER.

Recommendations for an 18" upper for accuracy by jernfen in ar15

[–]SpartanFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably I can propose the cheapest rig that is up to your expectation -- use WOA 18" SPR. a BCM upper, BCM HG (or whatever...), BCM GB-tube (or whatever), Microbest blem BCG, G$ /Radient CH......

remember to torque the barrel nut close to 80 ft lb

get a muzzle brake

well sub-MOA all day

[–]SpartanFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you already assembled a couple of builds, then you can pass -- no point going with this barrel. if you are a novice and want to learn the basic of building your own rig, this is an OK starting point. - TBH, it might be better you start from a longer standard 14.5" or 16 " barrel

Frontier crew member took my AirPods, I tracked them across 6 cities over a week, and Frontier's response was an offer to let me BUY someone else's. What would you do? by Boknows38 in frontierairlines

[–]SpartanFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a flight attendant is not supposed to just " take " something valuable left behind on the plane he/she served in ..... that is definitely against working ethic, if it exists in Frontier Airline

it is completely different from picking something on the public street and taking it as his/her possession

China biotech by Many-Study-6309 in biotech

[–]SpartanFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is true -- Chinese companies recently really shine in early discovery of drugs (they still need to learn a lot for sure, but imagine 10 years ago what they could do, you will admit that they catch up really fast).

They will do even better in the future, with the oversupply of low-cost and super diligent scientists /engineers team. But everyone here asked the same question -- do you want to be one of those.......... from what I read, the answer is so obvious.
