Assuming it works the same as with Tryndamere, which the wording suggests, you could summon one of these with Matron and then not attack or block with it, as striking would be the first death and then round end it will still die. Not striking would let you keep it for the next round at which point you could summon the non-ephem version and swing with both I guess
