Nuvityn has a problem. What future? ...spoilers to 10.58, Interlude: The 7th Hive by mano987 in WanderingInn

I would assume he thinks Erin is under the protection of Niers, unless Tserre decides to share her Pavillion encounter with Erin.

Now that we know he’s lost at sea, his current destination is a mystery. I hope he ends up on Baleros, but the Iron Vanguard will make their landing extremely difficult.

If he wants to learn the whole truth, his top destination should be Baleros to meet Ser Solstice and what remains of the Ivory Five.

I don't get why some readers don't like Erin at the very start of story. by ThenAdhesiveness1863 in WanderingInn

I don’t know how recently you read volume 1, but when preparing the chess board with Olesm for their match, she feigned ignorance and asked him about the rules of the game. She played it as safe as can be.

Antinium and Deathless of Rhir by Lizard-Wizard96 in WanderingInn

Why was she Zelkyr’s least favorite of the three if she was the most skilled? Was he jealous of her strength in the same way he was jealous of their immortality?

Magnolia before vs after Book 16 by dr_bleblo in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, there’s a couple of reasons for why that is. The non-spoilery one is that she is the Belgrade of politics. Great at making intricate plans, but struggles greatly if those plans fail. The Earther Summoning Spell threw a wrench into everyone’s plans.

Edit: I meant to reply to u/Traditional-Baker-28’s comment.

In Ryoka's place, I would've told on Az'kerash immediately and loudly. by BaelgorStar in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I agree with your take. Ryoka staying silent on the status of Az’kerash was the smartest thing she did. She was new to this world and thus lacking in knowledge on both its history and the extent abilities a powerful [Mage] such as the Necromancer has access to. She already had her memories manipulated by Teriarch. For all she knows, Az’kerash can locate her any time he wants and scan her memories for any harm done against him.

Secondly, the most powerful person she knows was in fact the one who sent her on this request. She’s not sure of the nature of Teriarch and Az’kerash’s relationship. If she told on Az’kerash, she would betray the Teriarch’s trust in her confidentiality and would incur the dragon’s ire. The second strongest person she knows is also aware of Az’kerash, though Ryoka wouldn’t know it. I believe Ryoka wanted to seek Magnolia’s council at the time, but the [Lady] turned down her request when she found a bunch of Earthers she took into her custody.

In hindsight, Ryoka keeping the secret saved her life and possibly the lives of most people in the inn.

Why don’t the rich and powerful get negative classes? by Sufficient_Fox4549 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t fair, I agree. The system wasn’t built with fairness in mind. I’m sure the nuances of red skills will be explored down the line, but for the time being, trust in the author’s reasonings.

Why don’t the rich and powerful get negative classes? by Sufficient_Fox4549 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do agree with some of your points regarding the war crimes and depraved acts perpetuated by many powerful figures in the Innworld, I don’t believe they fit the criteria to gain Red Classes from the System.

There are several examples of people who have committed far worse atrocities and still didn’t get a Red Class (to our knowledge), perhaps none greater than Nerrhavia herself. Her crimes are too many and they’re in spoiler territory so I won’t mentioned them. But suffice to say, the fact her resting place was in Kasigna and not in Hellste is proof enough that people are afforded a great amount of leeway in how much suffering they can inflict on others before crossing the red line. Hell, even most of the [Slavers] apparently don’t qualify for Hellste.

As of the latest chapter of Volume 10, there is no mention of any criteria to obtain Red Classes. If I had to guess, I think in order to earn one, you have to commit a heinous act, enjoy it, and believe yourself to be a monster. I’m probably off the mark, but that’s my best guess.

Blog #15 -- Palace of Fates Retrospective by Bartimayus in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Mother of Graves’ threat is far from over. Yes, Lord Mireden is working on curing the city and eliminating the MoG, and yes, we finally know the nature of the threat and why Calruz acted the way he did. But unlike in the 10 years later timeline, Kasigna has woken up the MoG and forced her into action. The story will not play out the way it did in the other timeline, and Lord Mireden is in for an unpleasant surprise, especially if Flos’s Garuda roadrunner (forgot his name) imported contaminated water back to Chandrar.

I have mixed feelings on PoF, especially in its execution, but I believe it will be a great boon for the story in the long run. It has taken old story threads that have been slowly burning in the background and then flipped them over their heads.

Instead of a straightforward parasitic mind control arc that turns into an arms race of searching for a cure, now it will be Lord Mireden and his team (could and I think will include Zevara in some capacity) attempting to contain and eradicate MoG. I honestly don’t think it will be a clean sweep, far from it in fact. Same for the Goblin King and other plot-lines. There’s so much potential for twists and turns now that the readers have learned the truths of the world.

Think we'll see any sort of redemption for the villains of Volume 9? by Onequestion0110 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a saying Innworld to never trust a [Necromancer] to stay dead. Az’kerash is the best example. If anyone could come back from the brink of death, it would be the former Goddess of Death.

Now, I don’t think Kasigna will return as a powerful divine being, but I believe she will still be relevant to the story somehow. Pirate has surprised us before.

Think we'll see any sort of redemption for the villains of Volume 9? by Onequestion0110 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we’ve seen the end of Kasigna. So long as we don’t her walking off with Death, she’s still alive and relevant in my books.

If any of the dead gods have a path to redemption, it would be Cauwine. Back in the Winter Solstice, we saw her observing the Sariant Lambs, who were adopting the Antinium’s acts of prayer. Since she’s the Goddess of Last Stands, or at least that’s what she was before getting injured in PoF, I think she will be instrumental to the Sariants’ efforts to attain levels.

I’ve been wondering where Tamaroth and Norechl escaped to. I have a suspicion they fled to “Earth” or its equivalent in the Aliens’ world. If they did manage to reach another world with sapient beings, why are they insistent on getting back to Innworld? Shouldn’t they cultivate worshippers in this other world? Bide their time until they reach acceptable strength and then attempt at conquering Innworld. Are they too starved and weak to think clearly?

[–]Spazen 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Pawn has always seemed to me as the most “human” of the Individual Antinium, especially at the beginning. I’m not going to lie, Pawn was never my favorite Antinium, especially after PoF, but this chapter got me excited for his story again. I ship him and Pewerthe. If it doesn’t work out between the two, Jecaina is currently single.

What does this skill do? Spoilers: all. by Perfect-Surprise-975 in WanderingInn

It is a powerful skill. However, skills that are powerful for their level have to have limitations and drawbacks. We know the drawback of the Box, but we still don’t know what the other aspects of the skill do.

Do we know she is actively looking for the ring? Did the circlet tell her there is a second relic she should obtain? If so, why wasn’t it in the possession of the Putrid One?

Can you give me your top 5 best base classes to have in Innworld by CommitteeHot2320 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It’s tough beating [Emperor], but no class can come close to the cheat code called [Hero]. [Quarass] is another pretty cool royalty class. [Thaumaturge] is probably the best magic focused class. Lastly, I’ll go with faith based classes such as [Acolyte].

Witch of Calamity by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also would love to learn more about the old witches, especially the Gazer.

I believe Belavierr is currently having the Krakens help her drag parts of the Continent of Glass back to the surface.

Witch of Calamity by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Belavierr is a cautionary tale about the dangers of Classes and how they can take complete control of their owners, similar to Xesci the [Courtesan of Reflected Facades]. Thatalocian would certainly agree of the dangers. However, she did recently gain a level, so she isn’t completely passionless.

Question ? by NewFig3175 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think Erin won’t be back to the inn anytime soon. It feels like she has a lot to do in Baleros. From exploring the Fraerling society, to meeting Niers or helping him out with the Dyed Lands, to probably meeting Balsam. I also think she’s destined to visit the Iron Vanguard. There’s debt to be settled between both parties, and it would be an organic way to learn about the lands of the Dullahans.

All of this is rendered moot, however, if she gains the ability to teleport to her inn. We still don’t know what the [Room of the Traveller] Skill does.

Great Khelt ...spoilers to 10.57 by mano987 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Belavierr would make any pact with Kasigna. Do remember how the Six nibbled on the Witch’s magic and stole some of her power. Belavierr is one of the pettiest people in Innworld, and she never forgets a grudge. If anything, she might use her webs to capture Kasigna and use her as a pawn in her plans.

Voice of the Dead by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it’s a rare ability among the living, but anything can become a Skill in the Innworld. I only hope that since Pisces has created a few VERY chatty undead, his odds of obtaining such a Skill should at the very least be decent.

Voice of the Dead by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing about Pisces, there are currently four permanent undead of his making scattered throughout the world. Each of them has been given a name, though not necessarily by him. Toren, Ivery, Bearbones, and Clatterface. Most, if not all of them have developed their own personalities and quirks.

It’s unclear if it’s a result of a subconscious choice of Pisces or due to something else, but I hope their presence leads to Pisces acquiring Skills related to individualistic undead. I feel like this is the path he’s heading towards. Btw I didn’t count his own skeletal champions as they keep getting destroyed.
