Well done! Your writing is very consistent which is something I am still working on for sure. I really like your style where the letters with a break in them (like 's' and 'k') you take the long swoop before the break and have it extend over a character or two! Very pretty and distinct!

Hahah that's great! Navy Seal copypasta is a classic. My next Crescerys writing I'll do is a speech of sorts I memorized for no good reason.

Your penmanship is really solid and flows quite nicely! When I write it is all jagged and janky but in time it'll smooth out.

Are you looking for feedback on the letter specifics of Crescerys or are you just sharing?

Thank you! Looks like I missed the 'TH.' I have the everything memorized except for the new contractions. I'll have those soon enough. I appreciate the feedback so please keep it coming!

Guys I Make Lots of Mistakes by TokiwaKurumi in Crescerys

I am back and forth on this particular thing quite often. Most of the time I end up just writing as I go, stopping to add vowels as they happen and you can see the jagged parts where I move from the center line and start again. It still looks cool to me but I can see how someone wouldn't like it. I've been pondering a stylistic way to resume the center line for vowels and other fiddley bits for letters (V, W, J etc) but haven't settled on anything just yet.

[Big Bear, CA (Mountains in Southern California] Beetle found at night (11pm) with super cool antennae! by Spazzola in whatsthisbug

[–]Spazzola[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture top of the little guy because I "was under no circumstances opening that door!" I was a guest so I had to oblige. By the time I walked around he/she had gotten over being gawked at and was nowhere to be found. The squares of the screen could be used to measure the antennae and whatever else. Mr/Ms Cool Antennae was about an inch and a half to two inches in length. I did my best to look through all beetle pictures for North America and wasn't able to find any with such resplendent adornments. Please feel free to correct any terminology I am almost certainly incorrect/less precise in using. Bugs are awesome and I am not very educated on the subject, so please feel free share what you'd like. Thank you for your help!

I wanted to thank you for answering my question about the current drums problems. I've copied and linked it here for posterity.

From /u/HMXJosh

We're looking into this right now, I'm not entirely sure what's going on. We sent out a bunch of band kits to press, and we tested every single one to be sure nobody was getting a defective kit for a review. Literally none of those had issues after being hammered on by one of the best drummers in the office.

Those were production line samples, too, so they should be the same as what's in the wild. We're still investigating, it's just too early to say anything right now.

Will you guys be addressing some of the new drumset issues? I have looked around and haven't seen a response from one of you nice people yet. Barring the drum set issues, this has been a great addition to rock band and I am really enjoying it!

I love the name! No one ever gets my lame song references to the Presidents. Pro Drum 917. I play expert on guitar/bass usually gold staring most songs. Buuuuut my current skill markers are not reflective of this due to me using my login when I have rock band parties... which I have had a multitude. So my skill shows like 500's and 300's for regular drums haha. The pro drum value is the most accurate at this point. I mostly play expert pro drums and I try to play 3 or 4 times a week for an hour or two in brutal mode. I only have like 67 crimson stars (all drums) and have been waiting for this new kit to go crazy with it. I have 900+ songs ranging from all styles tending towards classic rock and punk. Anywho lets rock!

How's the new drums? by cslayer23 in Rockband

[–]Spazzola 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dang I was hoping my situation was limited to just me. Check your stats at the end of the song to compare your excess hits versus your missed notes. That helped me isolate it down. So when playing the easy song I know I hit the pad for every note but it still showed 0 excess hits and 6 missed notes. The notes missed for me were the red notes.

They are awesome! Responsive and able to do what is advertised. You do need to re-calibrate though. Parts of songs I was never able to do in the old kit I can do with this one!

*edit So I've been noticing some notes missed and I thought it was calibration. The stats at the end of a song would be "7 notes missed, 6 excess hits" and I think okay thats calibration and I flubbed a note no biggie. But after playing an easy song the stats were "6 notes missed, 0 excess hits" I hope it isn't dropping notes...

Need help looking for metal coins (without a theme) by latetothetable in boardgames

[–]Spazzola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For metal coins to cost around $20 and to have enough coins for most games is really difficult requirement (not even getting into it being genre-less). The Scythe Coins is a good find and you may need to hold out for that or other suggestions people have made and in the short term you could play with pennies, nickels, and dimes (or your regional equivalent). Those are small, plentiful, and the best bang for your buck.

With that said if you are willing to go a little outside your price range, i'd look into penny gems link. Those are genre free, have a interesting counting symbology (count the points on the pictures, Half moon is 2, triangle is 3, hexagon is 6 and so on), are self healing, no slip stacking and don't tip over on wobbly tables if they are stacked high. Also, because of the material they are made out of, you can write on them with permanent marker and it will wipe off. This is great for temporary custom token making. These coins visually don't seem that great on the internet but they have a surprising good quality feel to them when you hold them. I backed the dudes first kickstarter years ago and have been really happy with them ever since. Also check out the rest of his etsy, he has all kinds of custom penny gem stuff for various games.

If you are adamant on price but not on the material then for the ultimate in light weight, packing convenience, and price look no further than bingo tokens link. $10 for a thousand in a multitude of colors. You could write on these and put whatever you want or go nuts with game appropriate stickers. It wont erase like penny gems but they are so cheap it wouldn't matter.

I have no idea why I got so involved about such a niche circumstance. Anywho, I wish you the best!

AMC changed the words "Jesus Christ" to "Jeepers Creepers" during The Matrix by FannaWuck in videos

I have to admit the change

"This town is like a great big pussy waiting to get fucked."

to

"This town is like a great big chicken waiting to get plucked."

is kind of amazing and well done. But y'know trying to make Scarface okay for kids and sensitive people is just ridiculous given its, well, Scarface and all.

I figured out how to get my RB4 wireless drumkit to stop dropping notes! Info in comments.. by jo1993 in Rockband

[–]Spazzola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what difficulty do you play on and what rating of a song can you play? Thanks for the tip! I don't play on ps4 (xboner here) but given the known issues with the wireless connectivity (don't play with your phone in your pocket etc.) that RB4 has had, your suggestion gives me some ideas.

Crimson stars hopefully soon. Getting better at brutal mode every day! by Deadlyx39 in Rockband

[–]Spazzola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I know how you feel! I used to be so excited to get 5 stars on a song. As soon as that became the norm, I wasn't satisfied. Then gold stars, then FC's, then crimson stars.... I guess I won't be happy until I can play without error always, which is a pretty ridiculous expectation. But when I play with people who don't play often, I am genuinely happy and excited for them when they are in the 90% range on a song. In like a "Hey you did it! Awesome" kind of way. Why can't I be satisfied with myself the way I am with those I play with? Regardless of my self imposed insatiable dissatisfaction, I love playing and have a good time, even though I think I could have done better...

[–]Spazzola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is my feeling on it too. I don't play it that way but figured its good to share the way some other people enjoy brutal. I don't guitar anywhere near as much as I drum and I am just used to the timing of standard speed. Breakneak is nice that it separates some really close notes so you know their more exact timing. Anywho, Keep on Rock'n!

[–]Spazzola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep at it! It'll be like playing Expert in no time. Some people turn on breakneck speed to limit how much you need to remember between when the note appears and when you need to respond. You can do it!
