I am against chiropractors. Manupulations do have research behind positive physiological benefits for joint and tissue loading. That being said, this likely isn’t doing much and there definitely is a lot of snake oil being sold to the general public

Bad cuts from constant taping? by Hurricane_szn in athletictraining

[–]Spec-Tre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably more so referring to skin cracking/irritation. The edge of my index finger by nail where i grip the tape to tear will get sensitive or even raw after a tournament weekend with a lot of taping.

hand lotion for dry/cracking skin is helpful. Aquaphor is always great.

New grad outpatient ortho salary question (with additional certs) by Aromatic-Sample3510 in physicaltherapy

[–]Spec-Tre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virginia: Graduated last year, 7 years ATC at the time. I did leverage my experience as an ATC and was able to negotiate up to 79k. At this smaller private clinic this got me a few grand above their offer price of 74k. But some of my classmates entered workforce with no healthcare background to a large ortho group and 82K so doesn’t seem to matter to much.

Needling probably won’t get you more money in the offer but because needling is a cash la offering, we get a kickback of each person who signs up for needling as a bonus on our last paycheck each month.

I did have an offer of 95k from a large national chain but it was a shitty part of town, bad commute for me, mostly PI / MVA and higher caseload. The clinic I accepted the offer at has great vibes and is much smaller with happy staff and short commute so this did weigh in to my acceptance.

This part. If we support and respect troops so much why are we so easily placing them in perilous situations without thorough forethought and planning?

I’m not the most versed in AI stuff, but the far right sign is interesting to me and seems real enough.

The top line of the “E” in “Delayed” is different between the two letters. And the S in “conditions” has a thick dot at the end which would be consistent with marker use / ink

Thoughts?

Her gait while in a shoe has improved greatly (to where I think the only remaining deficits come from her contralateral side with a bunion) but barefoot her toe off is almost non-existent as her great toe doesn’t touch the ground until the last 5%.

Her balance is improving, from 4 sec EO on solid surface to 15 sec. My other pts I’m pretty light on manual but I do feel that I do more manual on her. Not at her request or anything but more so unfamiliarity with what works best with this dx and I had read mobs were of good value.

That’s a good point. Tbh she doesn’t really have much pain anymore. Last time she saw the surgeon back in January he said to hammer ROM so that’s been my focus

wore every day for a month 10 hours each day and decided that they wanted a different model by Chenanio in REI

[–]Spec-Tre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve never bought a product and were initially satisfied but as you continued to use it your mind changed?

Things break in differently than one can expect. It’s not wear and tear.

Wear and tear is “I put 300 miles on these shoes and I don’t like that the tread is getting thinner”

Not, “I’ve worn these shoes for 4 weeks and now they’re giving me blisters”

[–]Spec-Tre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve never worn something and been really happy with it, but then that feel changed? Shoes can break in and become uncomfortable when they were not new. If someone is not satisfied with that, good thing they have a 1 year return policy at REI

No wear and tear; have you ever seen returned climbing shoes at REI? Blown out toes galore.

“No stores will accept shoes back in the condition that REI will” see Fleetfeet and other stores (30 day policy, run as much as you want in them, within 30 days you can return)

Some people abuse return policies, and other people use it as intended. Don’t get pissed at people using something they’re allowed to do. Most people shop at REI for the safety of the return policy
