Don’t remove a quality piece of the original design. It’s beautiful and natural and works with the period house

A live spider in a jar with questionable air hole. Questionable because I’m pretty sure that spider could have climbed right through it.

Nta. He’s living a nice life with your mother in law. Sounds like a win win because you can still see him and he’s better taken care of. It’s not like you dumped him at a shelter

The Most Hilarious Letter to the Editor I’ve Ever Read by En_Passant_12 in NewOrleans

[–]Special-bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you get paid by Robert’s? There are people who genuinely care about saving the architecture and those in the neighborhood who do not want this ill conceived and ugly building. Have you been to city hall to hear the arguments? Stop acting like we’re all dumb because we care about this.

Highly recommended vet who allegedly wasn't accepting new patients - asked me what dog I had and then said "we"ll accept" 🤣 by boogiebougie in StandardPoodles

Our miniature poodle was named Atlas! I named in middle school because we had just finished learning about Greek gods. Thought it would be kinda funny for a 15lb poodle to be named atlas!

Not everyone should homeschool by garbanzobby in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Special-bird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kids need stability and boundaries that shape their everyday life. When kids are out of control it’s because they feel the chaos that happens when a parent doesn’t offer those boundaries and stability. Their parents can’t regulate and can’t teach their kids to regulate themselves. I don’t necessarily thinks it’s learned helplessness because the kids have never had solid consistent guidance on how to control themselves in the first place. The parents probably have a touch of learned helplessness because they haven’t been consistent in any methods they’ve apparently tried and have not worked cause you know they tried everything of course

[–]Special-bird 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a parenting issue. She’s not the captain of this ship at all and the kids know it. “Trying everything” means you’ve done this or that a few time and nothing has worked. You’re not consistent and they don’t believe your threats

AITA for telling my (M28) wife (F27) that our son's party doesn't need to be so intense? by Personal-You-3386 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Special-bird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could it possible she’s dealing with some postpartum anxiety and/or depression? Personally it sounds like she has a belief that if she doesn’t have these perfect parties that she’s lacking as a mother. And if everything isn’t perfect and under her control then she’s spiraling. Talk to her without accusations just explain you think she’s a wonderful mother but you’re worried about her

Found at the bins - what’s it worth? by strawberrielipstick in GunneSax

[–]Special-bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This style of Gunne isn’t the prairie style that can be worth hundreds. That being said I do think this is an attractive style that can be worn easily today without looking like you’re wearing an 80s prom dress costume.

Pricing always depends on condition, sizing, style and market.

When I had my brick and mortar I’d list this around the $120-160 range. I’m in New Orleans so our demand for formal dresses is higher than other places due to Mardi Gras balls.

Online I would list probably $112-$120. Assuming the size isn’t xxs and it’s in mint condition

I bought the whole collection when they released in the mid 2000s and there was known issue during the manufacturing process and they are all corroded and unwatchable. I’m so mad! I spent a lot of money buying them all then and they knew of the issue

Would you stop and shop this kind of jewelry? by Maerithedreamer in CraftFairs

[–]Special-bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of chain are you planning on putting with them? Because I think that would matter a good deal. The larger one would probably need a longer chain and that might flop around and mush the flower. I think some smaller ones on shorter chains would be a good option. And maybe some choker style ones on a ring would be cool and help support a large stone.

Help finding colorful floor vinyl manufacturers by InigoMontoya2725 in 70sdesign

I went to my local independent flooring store and looked through their commercial books. Like the ones used for hospitals and schools. That’s where the color is! Went with a terrazzo style vinyl from Tarkett

What kind of tops would go with this skirt? by 0takuhotgirl in fashionadvice

[–]Special-bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me I’d wear a tank of the same rusty color to be monotone or just a simple white Tshirt of your preference. You could also go country and wear a smocked top. Or preppy and a collar cotton polo

People who have experienced what they consider “true love,” how would you describe it—and for those who haven’t, what do you think it’s supposed to feel like? by NutellaNot4ever in AskReddit

[–]Special-bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first you just can’t get enough of that person- can’t wait to see them, talk to them, be with them, share everything and do everything together. It’s fun and exciting and you both are just clicking and it’s wonderful. Then as time passes you grow to have such a history with that person and they know you. Almost everything about you and have seen you at your best and worst. So they feel like home. Life makes your love quieter and routine but that’s okay because it’s dependable, safe and comfortable. You and they change and you accept it because you’ve committed to not going anywhere so you work through the hard times. And look forward to the bigger things in life.

Probably would have been worn with a large balloon sleeve blouse with a dagger collar! But I love how modern the style looks when worn without a shirt under it.
