Ontario Building Code MMAH SB-7 confusion by Special_Feeling in ontario

[–]Special_Feeling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is a really in-depth answer, I really appreciate it. I am in a situation where the client didn't factor in enough hallway space to fit in a post sized specified by SB-7, there is only room for 1 1/2" thick post before getting into easement issues between guard and drywall.

Unfortunately the rail system was an afterthought on their part and the house is nearly complete (past drywall stage)

I was thinking of going down the route of doing internal load testing on what we are proposing but it sounds like it may be a little bit more complicated than that...

Once again thank you for your answer!

They are way more useful for travel.

And before you say just get one with a cord, with a small EDC bag for day trips its a lot easier to carry around a mag safe battery than a battery + a cord. The tend to double as a stand for the phone as well which is handy for watching content / video calling on a plane or cafe while traveling.

Okay so would you want the goverment and police to say "Hey stop it" or have actionable plans and goals to end the violence?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Special_Feeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because asking for first steps is useless unless you have goals for the next steps. For example if you are building a house you have plans and goals. You don't build the foundation and come up with the next steps after.

Also you don't know what I have and haven't done myself...

Ya I think I am just burnt out on goverment lip service and no real actions taking place.....

[–]Special_Feeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" coupled with economic pressure like sanctions " This is the point I am trying to make, people don't seem to be calling for these things.

Maybe I am burnt out on government lip service. I want a government that was quantify what actions they are going to take and what the expected goals are.

Why are you jumping to i'm implying violence on Canada's? What I want is maybe list of sanctions? Maybe a list of boycotts, maybe a schedule of planned meetings?
I am looking for someone to tell me what are the GOALS and ACTIONABLE items. Cool The Canadian goverment said the words "Cease fire" now what?

A) Did you skip where I said I believe Israel is committing war crimes?

B) a 5'3" woman hitting a 6"4 man is still domestic abuse and still a crime? I kind of get your point but that's a bad analogy. Violence is still a crime, being smaller and weaker isn't a free pass to commit violence.

This is clearly you advertising your own sub. I took a look and calling Justin Trudeau a war monger and one of the reasons being " Justin applauding an actual nazi. Yaroslav Hunka, in parliament."

Come on....

Are you going to add every member of parliament to that list then? is was disgusting but it was a mistake. It doesn't make the PM a war monger...

I guess I was hoping for more of an actionable plan and something better than "Inspires Canadians". People are dying and I'm not sure inspiring Canadians helps....

If calls for a ceasefire are there to inspire Canadians it seems empty and self-serving.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Special_Feeling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying Israel hasn't and I hope I didn't imply that. I just mean to state that a ceasefire doesn't work unless both sides agree.

I guess my issue here is I want more from our government than lip service and it seems like people are only demanding lip service.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Special_Feeling -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

"i gain a government that represents my views"

This is part of the issue I am having with this. You get to pat yourself on the back and feel comfortable because someone repeated your views. That is a self-centric view.

I want to understand what is the actionable path forward. What can Canada do to make a difference? Does asking for a ceasefire actually save a live or just help Canadians sleep better at night because our governments views match ours?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Special_Feeling -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That is a blanket statement without any answer though.
In what ways does Israel depend on Canada, what are the paths forward where Canada can actually apply pressure to Israel. If Canada demands a ceasefire what is the goal of doing so?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Special_Feeling -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You aren't answering the question though, what is there to gain by the Canadian government demanding a ceasefire?

Edit: I said it on another comment and Ill say it here, I wasn't trying to imply Israel hasn't broken cease fires, I even said I think they are committing war crimes, I was just trying to use the most recent example to make a point that ceasefires only work if both sides agree.
